Shep Smith Volunteers to Be Fox News' "Lack of Balance" Fall Guy

Whether the White House picking a fight with Fox News was a smart decision is up for debate. (Not up for debate: FNC's ratings spike since Team Obama spoke meanly of Roger Ailes' network.) But even Shepard "The Gay One" Smith can admit when his employer's "fair and balanced" mantra is, well, neither. In a interview segment between correspondent Shannon Bream and Republican New Jersey gubernatorial hopeful Chris Christie, Shep points out that they didn't also have a talk with Christie's opponent, the gay marriage loving Jon Corzine. Shep blames his producers; they'll probably blame Corzine.

Shep will most likely get fired from Fox pretty soon. He has done several things like this. Going after guests who supported tortoure, trying to pin another guest down on why they didn't support public health care etc… He definitly doesn't seem to have drunk the kool Aide over there.

@Cam: He also mocked Glenn Beck on his show. He's the one figure I actually respect at Fox News. The rest of them have a truly serpentine quality to them.

Yeah us gay men love dating cougars, hell yeah!

And, I dunno, I've seen Shep on several segments and I love his personality. Very sarcastic and cynical, and always interjects something entertaining into his reports. By far one of the best reporters there.

I love Shep too! Although part of it probably just goes back to that old Jennifer Lopez "curb job" blooper from years ago. That's a fun one.

I was unemployed when Katrina hit, so I was able to watch a lot of the cable news coverage. Shep was far and away the best of the lot, mostly because he was willing to pitch a fit about the horrific response to all the stranded residents. I've been a fan ever since.
