• The University of Notre Dame will allow a Gay and Lesbian film festival to happen after having recently allowed the Vagina Monologues to be performed on campus. The focus of course will be on the discussion as relates to Catholic teaching, and not on all the dirty talk and penises. [Pink News]

• A local politician in the UK was surprisingly unembarassed after his naked, ball-cupping profile pics from a gay dating site were circulated to the news media. He says he has always been “open” about his sexuality, and there is nothing hypocritical in his having posted the photos. We agree, and wish more cute politicians would follow his lead. Stephen Harper, the new conservative Prime Minister of Canada, wants to repeal the equal marriage law, but it seems he is in the minority, just like his government. [365 Gay]

• May 17 is the International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO), and this year Britain will take part for the first time. The U.S. does not have an IDAHO branch, and so will carry on with gaybashing as usual throughout the year. [Boise Weekly via PageOneQ]
