It's a sad day for San Francisco and the generally gay bay area: long-running party Tranny Shack will have its last dance on August 23. [Heklina]

Probably would have survived with a name change as Transgenders and Gays move in opposite directions nowadays…In New York, the whole Christopher Street scene is endangered including the struggling Stonewall bar (which was a Bagel shop once also) BTW – The sailor was HOT!

1. What's that sailor got to do with anything? Ridiculous pic for a legendary show.
2. It's only closing because Heklina is fried. She's amazing, and the show has filled The Stud every Tuesday night for more than 10 years.

It's a loss. BUT, it will live on. SF still has BY FAR the most interesting nightlife/scene for non-Abercrombie types in the country and Heklina will still be moving the game on.

Oh yeah.. the sailor is on the closing party invite. Still, where's a tranny shot when you need one? (sorry for the earlier dig)
