Since When Did Elisabeth Hasselbeck Think Lawmakers Shouldn’t Rely on Personal Beliefs?

The endless debate over outing anti-gay politicians ended up in the laps of Whoopi Goldberg and Elisabeth Hasselbeck when Outrage‘s Kirby Dick and Mike Rogers stopped by The View on Friday. Whether or not that’s the proper place for it is one thing, but at least it gets Hasselbeck’s sympathizers engaged in a debate on whether outing politicos is tantamount to bullying elected officials into legislating based their own personal lives and beliefs. Hasselbeck says it is, which is a funny argument coming from this one because in every other arena she defends personal beliefs as grounds for decision making.
