Pink, the singer best known for songs like “God Is a DJ” and being the butchest pop star ever, was reading about herself recently in the News of the World, which “reported” she said, “I’m not embarrassed about being bisexual. This is who I am.” This is funny, because Pink has spent so many years denying she’s anything but straight. She even married some motorcross stud to prove it! But she’s got an image to protect, so she responded to the report in typical celebrity fashion: Twitter.
Pink’s retort: “I just read that I’m bisexual. So 1991. Good thing people write articles about me so I can get my facts [straight].”
Sounds like she’s just upset she wasn’t up there with Britney and Christina when it came time to lock lips with Madonna.

It was good to let everyone know/think she was bi when she wanted to be photographed kissing a woman so she could look “trendy”.
Shame cause I really liked her.
There was a much more respectful way she could have put this w/o being insulting to her huge LGBT following.
While we’re at it, the rumor of her being a lezzer isn’t the only thing that’s “so 1991”.

Of all people, Mafia, I’d expect you to see that when we force the “gay” label on a woman just because she’s not your average Barbie doll, we’re just reinforcing outdated gender norms and generally doing a disservice to our community and our cause.

I’m getting the sense that she’s more disappointed in the fact that people are still making a big deal out of this — as if being bisexual in 2009 is a HUGE deal. Seems to me like she’s pulling a ‘post-gay’ stunt a la Mika rather than denying her bisexuality.

I don’t think she’s denying her sexual orientation but she’s definitely downplaying it, while denying she did a coming out interview for News of the World. And of course, the downplaying is what the celeb gossip media have picked up on – calling it a “denial” in the hope of exploiting more scandal, I guess. It’s why Twitter sucks for things that take more than 140 characters to explain.
