Raymond Penko thought he’d been hit in a drive-by shooting. He was, but not with bullets. They were paintballs, fired by at least three men in a sedan who screamed anti-gay slurs from the windows while driving by the San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center. Penko was standing in the parking lot with five others after they attended a meeting at the Center, stopped by a nearby cafe, and were returning to their cars. The incident was just one of three paintball attacks reported to police Monday night.
