Oy! It never ends, does it? Some anti-gay activist up Milwaukee way are distributing some tacky pamphlets deriding the lavender set. And some people think it's meant to derail homo-politico Patrick Flaherty's council campaign. [Gay Politics]
That story is so disingenuous. Those flyers have been around town a lot longer than the campaign has been going on, and as a GLBT candidate, Patrick Flaherty's campaign literature (which was blizzarded all throughout the district and multiple copies sent … this from an "environmentalist"?!?) never pictures nor mentions his partner of many years and mentions his work as "nonprofit agencies" not mentioning his only experience is with a GLBT organization.
He also doesn't need the money. He raised tens of thousands of dollars and bought his way into an already established race.
His campaign website doesn't even have a tab for GLBT issues, nor are they featured prominently.
Bottom line: he's not a victim, and he only identifies as gay when it suits him. Who needs politicians like that?!?!

I've known Patrick for several years and never has his commitment to the gay community been questioned by anyone who knows him. The statement that he only identifies as gay when it suits him could not be further from the truth.
