The district attorney's office requested a continuance -- a pretty standard maneuver in any case, really, though it's most often used by defendants -- of at least two weeks before the hearing "to further investigate" the case. The next court date is Aug. 5.

Delays are also the result of: a) not having done your homework b) maneuvering to schedule a judge more sympathetic to your cause. Trying this case as a hate crime will be a bit difficult, considering Georgia has no hate crime statute.

The Feds looked the case over already. And (supposedly) finally got Kieran Daly to turn over his medical records. So, if there’s anything substantial there, they’ll be charged. If nothing substantial, they won’t be.

The victim is alive. They won’t be charged with a hate crime. I don’t see that happening. They are gonna get probation. Just you wait and see.
