Spanish Clergyman In Anti-Gay Scandal

spain_sm97gif.jpeg
A Spanish priest may be in big trouble. The government has launched an investigation into allegations that Marcos Zapata has been using his youth centers to “cure” homosexuality.

A Spanish clergyman is to be investigated after complaints that he is holding seminars which aim to “rehabilitate homosexuals”. Protestant minister Marcos Zapata, head of an organisation running youth centers for troubled children in Galicia, prompted the row after reports surfaced of a recent seminar he led entitled “How to Raise Heterosexual Children”.

Yesterday the Galician regional government said it would investigate Zapata to make sure the youth centers his organization runs do not employ “any type of proselytising or homophobic attitudes” when dealing with minors.

Spanish gays are planning a lawsuit against Zapata if he’s found guilty.
