Special Session for New York's Senate This Month. Gay Marriage Not a Definite Topic

THE INNER CIRCLE

Gov. David Paterson repeats his support for legalizing marriage in his state, but what about New York's State Senate? After the circus came to town, the Senate will reconvene later this month for a special session. Except it's really to close the $2.1 billion budget gap. Maybe they'll get around to marriage rights. Even Senate gay and angry man Thomas Duane isn't confident a vote will come during the session, mostly because Majority Leader Malcolm Smith is a grade-A coward.

Malcolm Smith is not the majority leader, Pedro Espada is, as part of a deal for switching back to the Democratic caucus.

Email, Call, and fax New York State Senators NOW and urge them to vote YES on Marriage Equality this month.
