In fact I’ve lived in San Francisco my entire life and don’t recall ever seeing such a magnificent public display in every day life outside of the usual gay shenanigans. I took these photos, they weren’t staged. I was shooting a charity run at the bottom of the steps, I saw this guy doing elevated burpees, which was something I never saw done before and I see people exercise on these steps all the time. I live across the street, I shoot people and things all the time on the steps, last year I shot Katy Perry in a Pizza Onesie, the year before I shot people sledding down the steps, with sleds and tables, the year before I shot a car driving down the steps. Also he did get a lot of grief about his legs, and has since posted shots of the legs. He’s not homophobic. He’s super nice. Since last week we’ve been on most of the media outlets in Philly, and now it’s going national. Just a random shot by someone who shoots the steps every day, mostly instagram shots. I was in a bar and a straight unit built like this guy walked up to me: “You f*ckin’ lookin’ at me?” I said, “Everyone is. Dang I wish I had your resolve, your hard work has really paid off.” We became instant buddies after that.
