Spitzer Out?

Don't know why he should resign, but I guess that's up to him.

Uh, HELLO? Because paying for sex is a crime. I think he has done a good job but the law applies to everyone. That means you too Little Georgie Bush.

I don't think that it should be a crime, at least not worse than a parking ticket. That's just unnecessary prudishness. Georgie Bush on the other hand is one of histories most stupidly brutal for real criminals. he has over a million poitless deaths to his credit in Iraq. I have my doubts that he has much of an idea as to how sex is done. He steps all over the law without constraint. Relatively I think that murder and torture are things that deserve attention..

I think different lines of analysis are being confused here.

I don't think prostitution should be criminalized, but if Spitzer had that belief, then he, as governor, should have had the balls to propose it. On the contrary, his rhetoric was to go after prostitution. He can't escape the hypocrisy.

As far as King George's crimes…Well, there can and should be moral outrage, but he didn't break any U.S. laws. A bigger disgrace than his preemptive war is Congress' authorizing it and not once having de-authorized it. Until and unless they do, no crime, no time.

Joe Bruno, Republican Senate Whip must have put a call into one of his Mafioso contractors to "Get Spitz" because of his working towards obtaining both New York houses and the inevitable road to Gay Marriage. I guess that Bruno (the Trent Lott Pitbull of Albany politics) put his Ken Starr finest onto this one. Governor Spitzer will have to resign in this affair so as not to distract from the Presidential race too long, or McCain's affair which the GOP corporate media buried.
