Cayman Islands' Tourism Minister Pilar Bush "resigned" today, saying that she needs to be with her family. Some say, however, that the government forced her out after she apologized to American homo Aaron Chandler, who was wrongly detained for dancing with his boyfriend. [Cayman Net News]

Big surprise, “resigned” in Ape caymanian talk means she was harassed to no end and made the laughingstock by her co-workers for having written a letter of apology to a Gay man. What a dump of a place and a stain on the U.K.

No 3 Michael: OMG, you did it again. You wrote: "… only know one person who lives their and they…" Their should be thERE. I'm convinced you didn't graduate high school. This weekend, plese use some time to refresh (or is it learn for the first time??) yourself with proper English grammar and usage.

People who use poor English should be banished to Iran where they can be hung for being gay……. Just a thought.

What's the big deal about incorrect grammar? People type fast and don't double-check themselves… maybe they're interrupted and not looking closely. It's an effin' forum board… not a published work of literature. Sounds like a chill pill is called for.

And regarding the resignation, well… whatever. I never knew how messed up the Cayman Islands were. I'm glad it has been publicized though because I'll never spend any of my money in that country and probably not in any Caribbean country. I suggest all homosexuals and friends of homosexuals do the same.

RPCV, what's the obsession with proper grammar? In fact, you misspelled "please," should have used a comma instead of a colon for "You wrote: '…'" and worst of all, used "OMG." I am a grammar fiend myself, but if you're going to correct someone else, at least make an effort to do it right yourself.

Have fun in Iran.

RPCV, the patois spoken in the Caribbean islands is hardly English much less proper. The Cayman islands are a haven for white collar criminals and drug lords who need to launder their money. It has become what Switzerland use to be for dictators; a place to hide the loot.

I know of no Caribbean island or nation that has the moral high ground from which to condemn anybody.

It's really a big social problem.

She didn't resign because of the Chandler thing, I work with the CIDOT so I know…her resignation was in the works for months, since February earlier this year. A lot of people dislike her, especially the foreign offices. After the Chandler thing, can anyone wonder why? She was a bad director, the worse in recent memory. People even quit jobs they loved because of her. Good riddance to BAD RUBBISH.
