St. Maarten Pastors Want Any Gays Disembarking Atlantis’ Gay Cruise To Adhere To Strict Dress Code

Know what’s really irking the religious community in Philipsburg, St. Maarten? All you disgusting fags walking off the gay cruises and infiltrating their island community with Speedos and six-packs. So Christian leaders there are demanding you start adhering to a dress code so they won’t have to look at your ding-dongs bouncing around in your budgie smugglers. Not that they hate homosexuals!

St. Maarten United Ministerial Foundation and St. Maarten/St. Martin Christian Council Foundation have sent their support for a tourist dress code to Parliament’s tourism committee — all ahead of Atlantis’ gay cruise — on Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas — arriving there April 1. It’s bad enough gays on the island dress the way they do, and rubbing their homosexuality in everyone’s faces.

Pastor Wycliffe Smith, who headed the delegation, said the group was guided by the word of God and had not been politically motivated or manipulated by anyone to champion these issues. He said the churches were following the rule of God by loving the sinner, but hating the sin. “We are not saying it is right to do it hidden or in the closet,” he said. Smith said homosexuals were coming to the island every day via the airport and the harbour and there also were many who live here. His contention is that these people should not impose their way of life and should curb public displays of affection. “As a Christian nation, we love you [homosexuals], but we don’t love your lifestyle,” he said. He also acknowledged that there were people living on the island who needed to adhere to a dress code and a code of conduct.

He added that the churches, like Jesus Christ, loved homosexuals, lesbians, murderers and fornicators, but not the sins. “Man’s legislation doesn’t make these evils right,” he said. Some of those “evils” include legalising same sex marriages, abortion and euthanasia, which are already legal in the Netherlands. Other “evils” affecting society are gambling and the proliferation of adult entertainment clubs.

Smith raised concern that the Netherlands would want to impose its legislation on same sex marriages, abortion, and euthanasia in St. Maarten as had been done in Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. He said the democratic deficit in the kingdom must be addressed and legislation must not be forced on St. Maarten because it is small in size. He also said corruption in the “high and low places” of society was rampant and “the brush-off of ‘everybody is doing it'” needed to be stopped. Policies that allow gambling and labour exploitation must be reviewed and remedied.

Oh c’mon, St. Maarten priests! The last thing you need to be concerned about when a gay Atlantis Cruise rolls into town is how the gays are dressing. Rather, it’s what they are packing.

Didn’t know they had a dress code. When I was there the natives on the beach let it all hang out. Another Catholic bigot just felt it was his duty to sound righteous.

Yet they say nothing with the 250 lb 75 year old European men walk around in a speedo. Then again, their stomachs typically effectively cover their junk.

You know, I am not going to jump on the ‘Damn this homophobia’ bandwagon. Not when it comes to Atlantis. It’s the most douchey tweeked out mess of meth heads you can imagine, and asking them to cover up their partied out, tribal tattooed, fuck-anything asses seems like what you SHOULD do. Any yes.. I was once on ONE Atlantis vacation with my husband. To the day I die, i will tell everyone about what a disgusting and non gay-affirming experience it was. I’m not a sexual prude. (more ho than prude), but this was just a sad group of drugged out messes.

Funny thing, Orient Beach on the French side is clothing optional. I’ve been there a few times and the French families come out on Sunday with mom topless. So what’s the problem with the Dutch?

The pastor who was leading this anti-gay brigade, according to QUEERTY, is named, Wycliffe Smith, which doesn’t sound Dutch.
My guess is that he’s having a problem with the Dutch too. He’s probably from a family of Puritans who were behind the curve to the point where they missed the boat, sparing New England from one more Puritan, but eventually ending up in St. Maarten – the English didn’t want them either.

A little note to pastor Wycliffe Smith who heard the word of god on this gay dress code and conduct thing …….i actually heard the same messege! But it wasn’t to try to instill a dress code on gays, it was to put the priests in lockkdown 6 hours befors the ship arrives to avoid overfratenization by church leaders getting weak in the knees. Though many priests prefer them younger, there are many who are non specific in their choice of sexual partners.

But as usual, the dorks in dresses twisted tbe message beyond recognition.

You should respect OTHER people wishes and rules when you enter THEIR house people! not everyone thinks it is “hawt” to walk around half naked or in a vulgar fashion…that is one things gay men have to learn…people are not going to bow to YOUR wishes when you come to their land…country…or house….show people RESPECT and you will get RESPECT in return!

@Shannon: It’s not just the gays who’re showing off their junk: the str8 European men at any age still wear speedos every beach they go to. The Pastor has targeted the gays for his rant.

Sint Maarten (or Saint Martin) is an autonomous state within the Kingdom of the Netherlands – they can make their own laws etc. Unlike the other Dutch Carribean possessions, which are dependent on Dutch financing..

We were on a Carribean cruise and at one of the ports a couple dozen people had gathered to protest our arrival, Most of the islands look the same and the ship is a nice place to be when a lot of people are in port. So, a bunch of us stood at the back of the ship near the dock where they were protesting and threw dollar bills into the ocean. It was our own little protest.
