Steve Grand Thanks “GrandFam” For Making Him Third Highest-Funded Music Kickstarter Ever

Steve Grand And Hilton Kick Off Northalsted Market Days With Special Event In ChicagoOut underwear model “country singer” Steve Grand becomes the official gay Macklemore this week, raising well over a quarter million dollars on Kickstarter to jumpstart his career without interference from a record label.

The 23-year-old Chicago native began the campaign in February after enjoying viral YouTube success with his debut single “All American Boy”. He sought to raise $81,000 and nearly doubled that in the first 24 hours. He promised to use excess funds for radio promotion.

On Sunday, Grand’s campaign concluded with $326,593, making it the third highest-funded music Kickstarter campaign in history.

In a message to his “GrandFam” (see what you created?), Grand says that he’s “grateful beyond measure” and “truly moved by what you’ve done.”

“You’ve given me all the motivation I need to work my heart out for you,” he said. “Nothing is more important to me than honoring the trust and love you’ve placed in me to tell honest stories, our stories, and to make a great album.”

Grand’s debut album is expected to drop this summer.
