Queerty is better as a member
Do they have “Whites Only” dance clubs too or would that be considered discriminatory?
Yes, why are women allowed to dance together all the time but not men? Women are to blame because they exploit this homophobic double standard.
ill-equiped to deal with an attack? isn’t this happening in Texas where everyone carries weapons? what? do they have to dance with pistols in their hands to be considered equiped to deal with an attack? seems absurd.
@jimbryant: But jim / jason, if men were to dance together in a concentrated place, with alcohol available, and they didn’t get enough sleep, they would develop AIDS through osmosis or something! According to you. :)
I think this is why we have our own bars and clubs. DUH.! Like I want to hang out with a bunch of effing breeders and pretend to play cowboy… What am I… 10..???
@AuntieChrist: No shit. I can’t stand when my gay friends invite me out for drinks at straight bars. WTF for? We are not welcome there, there is nothing there for me.
Since I’m still on my soap box, what were these guys thinking? It’s Texas for heaven’s sake, not California. Private establishments can refuse service to anyone, and I’m sure Texas doesn’t have any anti-discrimination laws that protect gays!! Go to places where you will be welcomed. Case closed.
@jimbryant: I think you need to have a sex change. You sound like a frustrated woman begging for a vagina…A good friend told me that you become what you hate…
Straight people take over or bars and clubs, and we get kicked out of theirs. This is what young gay people think is progress.
Absolute nonsense. Your attitude is typical of the submissive gay who is afraid to rock the boat. I certainly don’t subscribe to your submissive notions. You would have no place in my revolution.
Some of you tend to be such submissive queens as you hide away in your little holes, too scared to take on the real world, including women. Women scare you. Men scare you. You want to shut the blinds and create your own little worlds.
Well, I’m GLAD that the two guys in Texas took on the bar. I’m GLAD that they pointed out that women exploit same-sex dancing at the expense of men.
This exploitation of double standards by women is part of a larger gender war that feminists in particular – and women in general – are conducting against men. It’s time to throw down the gauntlet to these ghastly estrogen containers.
Mabe if you all wern’t so busy laying out blue prints for the latest bathhouse they would give us a break.
Such a shame, gays always being on the bad end of everything. Mabe when the gay community cleans up its own act we won’t be harassed and bothered so much.
DUH!! Not every town has an exclusive “gay bar”. In the article the couple states that they had been to the bar “hundreds of times before”. They must have felt some sense of comfort or desire to continue to go back. Hopefully the ACLU’s involvement will result in something positive good to know that there are organizations that support equal rights.
@Jamal: Disgusting to blame the victims of harassment and bigotry. :(
@Jamal: Praise Allah…Now slip your burqa back on bi**h…Jamal Abdul Toofar…
They need to leave us alone. I would have danced untill the cops came.
Gotta say, I’m kinda glad they’re making some noise about this.
The club has a rule against same sex dancing but only for men?
I mean, straight people usually get all hetero in gay bars without incident, and there are way fewer gay bars and clubs than there are straight ones.
And the ridiculous, “gays were being disruptive” excuse…ugh
That’s just straight up bullshit if they think country music is somehow sacred. Gimmie a break.
btw: the 21 year old, the guy pictured wearing glasses – adorable!
Just curious – if Texas has (?) an anti-discrimination law and gays are included, wouldn’t the ejection of this couple be a violation of that law? It sounds like a “public accommodations” issue to me.
@ChuckGG: Some of the bigger cities in Texas do (Austin, San Antonio and I think Dallas, Houston and El Paso) the state as a whole, no.
@Geoff B: Thanks for the update!
Straight women will often dance with each other when they don’t have men to dance with.
Many straight men are so uptight about the possibility that someone might think they’re gay that they get jittery if another guy shakes their hand for more than a couple of seconds.
In many non-gay clubs in Las Vegas, you often see groups of men dancing together with not a woman in sight. Bros before hos, I guess.
I can’t imagine you have any friends, Jim. So I guess that’s a choice you’ll never have to worry about making.
@jimbryant: But jason, I mean brian, I mean jim – if you let men dance together, they might end up staying awake all night, and doing poppers, and automatically getting AIDS through osmosis! Dancing is the first step in that degenerate “sleazeball” lifestyle! According to you.
You better put a stop to all this dancing stuff right away, by typing a lot about it anonymously on gay blogs.
Don’t start getting inconsistent on us now.
Why didn’t the women in this country club come to the assistance of these guys? Oh, I forgot, it was a woman who vomplained about them….
This is my hometown where I grew up for 18 years…unfortunately I’m not at all surprised at this. That’s why I’m living in Austin.
Wow, you brought your misogyny into this discussion, Jim. I get that you hate women (and gay men), but I didn’t know it was a seething hatred. Perhaps some 5150 would do you some good.
Yada, yada, yada…you’re not making sense.
Holding women to account is not misogyny. It’s reasonable common sense.
Gay men in America will never be free unless they fight female privilege. Females have been allowed to get away with a lot under liberalism, and it’s got to stop.
Tbh, I can see why some gay guys would want to frequent straight bars more than gay ones, have you been to some gay bars? Not fun being around overly snarky, bitchy people.
@jimbryant: Actually, women are to be credited for giving gay male couples the ammunition to showcase “two-faced” policies and social stamdards.
