Here’s a little tonic after the disheartening Lawrence King tale.

New York-area teen Michael Loscalzo got a bit of flack after announcing that he wanted to become a woman, but his friends refused to sit back and watch. So, like little go-getters, they organized a wig-wearing, cross-dressing rally to raise awareness. Ain’t that sweet? School officials, however, may not be as progressive.

Some students claim Loscalzo faced suspension for dressing like a woman, but a school spokesman denied the allegation. What’s interesting, however, is that while students say 60 or so people participated in the peaceful protest, administrators “said the number was far less.” Queer…
