According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, 53% of Americans now openly support gay marriage, up two points since the last time this question was asked in December.
Of the respondents polled, 8-in-10 claim to know or work with someone who is gay or lesbian, which is up 14 points since December.
Knowing and working with LGBT people may have helped increase those numbers, but certainly not as much as television can. Only 15% of those surveyed say their relationships with LGBT people make them more likely to back same-sex marriage, and more than half say it doesn’t really make a difference.
We wonder how the numbers will change once pro athletes start creeping out of the closet?
How about we take this to the next level?
