Even if members of the incoming college freshman class describe themselves as “far right,” some 24 percent of them walk on to campus supporting same-sex marriage, compared to just 14 percent of America’s conservative Republicans as a whole, according to new data from the Higher Education Research Institute at the University of California at Los Angeles. Moreover, the freshman female-male ratio of support stood at 72-57; nationally, that rate is 43-34, according to a Pew survey.

More precisely, it shows that younger people in 2010 are more tolerant of gays and lesbians than older people. Keep in mind that prejudices that everyone thinks are correct never get noticed as prejudices.

Americans SUPPORT civil unions 57-37. 68-29 among young adults. 63-33 among independents. AND 43% of self-identified CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS.
Americans say LGBT people suffer a LOT of discrimination 64-30.
And these numbers are 1 1/2 years old!
