Super-Size Your McTwink Happy Meal and Get a Free Bratz Doll

So here’s the inevitable American spoof of McDonald’s gay French ad. And I’ve gotta say: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wins in creativity.

      This isn’t parody, it’s actually quite homophobic and insulting to gays in general. It’s simply so sad that France can air such a mature version of the commercial, but here in America we have to have a “screaming queen” type. HOW is that funny??? It’s no different than the racially insulting “Amos & Andy” who tried to show through ‘humor’ that blacks were simply simpletons. This ‘parody’ is just as insulting based on gross stereotypes.

      @Ian:

      You do realize that often, the point of parody is to play up the stereotype? Otherwise it wouldn’t be a parody. Also, this isn’t the “American” version of the McDonald’s ad because it’s not from McDonald’s. It was obviously made by a few guys who had a camera, wrote a minute long sketch and had about 2 hours to kill on a weekend to shoot and edit this whole thing.

      I agree with Ian. It’s pretty fagophobic.

      The point of the US parody was that parents (fathers) are often clueless to what is literally in front of their face and make assumptions about their kids that have nothing to do with what and who their kid actually is.

      That was part of the point of the French add as well.

      This kid is so gay you’d have to be blind and deaf not to notice and still the father’s just waxing on about HIS life and HIS adolescence.

      It’s great.

      It’s not just that gays are welcome (come as you are) it’s also “Hey parents, your kid might be gay, don’t assume they aren’t, listen when your kid speaks, pay attention.”

      The parody is adorable and funny. Great job.

      Call it what you want. I know at least 3 “twinky-somethings” that act JUST LIKE THAT. Including the OKrrr.

      Why does this make me think of a line from Designing Women: “If sex were fast food, there’d be an arch over your bed”?
