Swinging!

Barack Obama and his team of gay staffers are hoping homo voters can help make headway in swing states like Virginia. Said gay vote mobilizer Dave Noble, "[Gay supporters] should be telling their own story about why they support Barack. Let’s talk about the fact that we have a candidate who’s unafraid to talk about the need for LGBT laws.” [Washington Blade]

Ugh. But at the end of the day Obama doesn't think you should have the same rights he takes for granted. I'm voting for him solely because McCain is so much worse.

ditto to previous post. It seems he can't get through a major speech without a passive dig at us: he makes a big point out of saying when he had an AIDS test, he did it with his WIFE; he flubs his only pro gay line at the Convention (a minimal one about allowing hospital visits); and last night, "I have never worn lipstick [Ok????] and then chastizing Guliani for his drag show of gay support.

How come nobody calls his gay staffers Uncle Toms ? He's not for them getting legally married.

In anticipation of people chastizing me for daring to state what I did, let me make clear that I will still vote for him and completely Democratic. Just not thrilled. Luke warm, so far.

I'm much more than lukewarm.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he the first pres. candidate we've had with a special LGBT issues website? I honestly think his only reason for speaking his "man + woman" line about marriage is for political purposes. Frankly, I'm surprised that he was so bold in discussing his pro-choice stance at the last debate + think that if more of America (including many Dems) were more open to the idea of gay marriage, he'd openly support it. Such is not the case, yet, but I think electing a president like Obama will bring significant progress.

I don't believe that he'll throw us under the bus, so to speak, given his stance on civil rights in general.

Sorry, can't see voting for someone that has never run a city, state or his own business, smoked crack, hangs out with terrorists and wants to spread my hard earned money around to worthless lazy people.

Your non-endorsement means what, exactly? The only thing you've run successfully is your mouth.

Shove on.
