» Gay Cops v. Alycia Lane

Prosecutors may have let former Philadelphia CBS anchor Alycia Lane off the hook for her assault on a "dyke bitch" cop, but New York City's gay officers league wants to hang her out to dry. They are "outraged and deeply concerned" that people like Lane could simply be allowed to walk free. Sure, Lane's a cooze, but this city has bigger problems… [Newsday]

» Alycia Lane Charges Dropped

Former Philadelphia CBS anchor Alycia Lane will not face charges for assaulting a female NY police officer, who she also called a "dyke bitch". Apparently her clawing didn't do enough damage. It did, however, ruin her career. [Jossip]

"Dyke bitch" lobbing Alycia Lane may have found a new gig! Rumor has it that WWE honcho Vince McMahon offered the disgraced anchor a job covering his wrestling empire. Girl (allegedly) has enough experience throwing punches. In other news, Lane loves saving puppies! Awwww…

Recently fired Philadelphia anchor Alycia Lane will be looking for a new apartment soon. Page Six reports that Lane - who was fired after allegedly assaulting a "dyke bitch" cop - has put her digs on the market:

…Alycia Lane is decamping from the City of Brotherly Love. The ravishing news anchor - fired from CBS affiliate KYW after she allegedly slugged a female NYPD cop - has put her luxury Philadelphia condo on the market, reports Philly gossip Dan Gross, who writes, "She's out of a job and has a couple of attorneys to pay, so it would make sense."

No word on where Lane will hang her hat and broomstick…

Hysterical news anchor Alycia Lane ain't laughing this morning. Philadelphia's ABC brass decided to sack Lane after the brunette went ape shit last month in New York.

Alycia Lane "has been released from her contract effective immediately," KYW-TV said in a statement Monday, the day she had been due back on air.

Lane is accused of scuffling with a plainclothes female officer during a traffic dispute last month. A police complaint also said she used a sexual slur. Lane has denied the allegations.

"After assessing the overall impact of a series of incidents resulting from judgments she has made, we have concluded that it would be impossible for Alycia to continue to report the news as she, herself, has become the focus of so many news stories," station president and general manager Michael Colleran said in the statement.

Lane's attorney described the dismissal as "unfair".

In case you don't recall, Lane allegedly attacked a female copper, whom she called a "dyke bitch". We'd expect such language from Michael Savage, not a pretty female reporter. Of course, Lane's not the most stable: she once emailed steamy pictures of herself to married Rich Eisen. No wonder Playboy wants Lane's goods.

Anchor's Lips Make For Great Gossip

We may soon see a lot more of irate news anchor Alycia Lane.

Playboy wants bad-girl TV anchor Alycia Lane to bare it all. A source tell us editors at the magazine's Chicago offices are mulling a lucrative offer to Lane to strip for an upcoming issue. A Playboy rep wouldn't confirm or deny the possible offer.

Lane's other lips made headlines last week after she allegedly punched a "dyke bitch" police officer. Philadelphia's ABC affiliate made clear they don't approve of their employee's complete insanity. And we suspect they wouldn't appreciate her flashing her vagina, either.

"Dyke Bitch" Not Okay

alycialane1.jpg
Philadelphia-based news anchor Alycia Lane brought shame to her CBS colleagues this week.

As we reported Monday, the journo recently went apeshit on an undercover cop, whom she deemed a "dyke bitch". While Lane languishes in "vacation," the honchos over at her local CBS affiliate want the gays to know that will stand by our collective side:

CBS 3 is conducting its own investigation of whether Lane, who now is off the air on "vacation," called a female New York undercover cop a "dyke" and slugged her in the face early Sunday on a New York City street, the station said in the statement.

"Alycia and her lawyer have categorically denied that she used this language," said the statement from station spokeswoman Joanne Calabria.

"While Channel 3 is in the midst of its own investigation, we can state without hesitation that we find this language offensive, intolerable and inappropriate under any circumstances," Calabria said.

Philadelphia Gay News publisher Mark Segal also reminds us that CBS 3 led the fight against Dr. Laura Schlessinger's on-air homophobia: they were the first to drop the show from their frequency. Their action sparked a national movement.

Alycia Lane Attacks Cop?

alycialane.jpg
Philadelphia-based news anchor Alycia Lane lost it in New York City yesterday. The 35-year old apparently became enraged after her cab sat behind a slow moving car. Lane and her boyfriend, Chris Booker, got out of the car to move things along. The car, it turned out, held three undercover cops, who began questioning Booker as the increasingly agitated Lane snapped shots. It's around this time, says NY Post, that Lane went totally ballistic, calling one of the female officers a "dyke bitch".

The female cop told the anchor, "You can take pictures, but you have to step back," the sources said.

Lane went ballistic, shouting that she was a TV reporter and declaring, "I don't care that you're a cop - you dyke bitch!" the sources said. Then she allegedly walloped the officer in the face.

Lane - whose lawyer said she didn't know the three were cops - was taken to the 10th Precinct station house, where she was charged with assaulting an officer.

Lane's lawyer also denies that his client hit the cop, who went to the hospital for treatment.

This isn't Lane's first time in the tabloids: the KYW-TV journalist once emailed steamy pictures to married sports reporter Rich Eisen. Despite her crazed past, KYW-TV seem to be sticking by Lane - for now, at least: "We are very concerned for Alycia. We are still trying to sort out exactly what happened." It's pretty clear to us: Lane lost it - big time.
