Anderson Cooper's so put upon! The CNN anchor wants the world to clean up its environmental act because, quite frankly, he's sick of covering the story:
When CNN producer David Doss announced that Planet in Peril would probably become a regular feature on Anderson Cooper 360, Cooper groaned, “Jesus Christ! We really need to solve this whole environmental thing quickly, because I really don’t want to do it again.”
That's the best reason to recycle we've heard - well, ever!
• Jeff Corwin, Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta looked smart at the Planet In Peril premier.
• Latino parents neglecting gay discussions.
• Wayne Besen on the Closet's construction.

Every once in awhile an ostensibly "straight" man lets out a little bit of fag.
You can't tell by this snap, but CNN's Anderson Cooper's reacting to Whoopi Goldberg's enticement, "We will be right back with fall footwear for under 50 bucks."
Cooper's totally forgotten that our planet's in peril - the reason for which he appeared on the show. He's definitely thinking, "Shoes!"
Not convinced? Head to Gawker to watch the video. It'll take your breath away.
Meanwhile, we're not sure if George Clooney's playing princess in this picture, but he's looking a bit light…
Singer Elton John had some choice words for President Bush before his foundation's gala. When asked to comment on the American president's AIDS policy, John took aim at Bush's anti-sex stance:
They've made a grave error in giving millions to abstinence programs. They don't work. They were told in the beginning that it wouldn't work. It's a tragic waste of money. Please don't listen to those idiots. God almighty.
Meanwhile, Anderson Cooper, who also appeared at the gala, explained that his "young gay friends" underestimate AIDS:
I talk to young gay friends in New York, and some of them seem to think the AIDS problem is a thing of the past. … The reality is that it's getting worse, not better.
Yes, yes it is…
The coppers may have nabbed his Nan Goldin shot, but Elton John seemed carefree at his eponymous AIDS foundation's Enduring Vision benefit last night.
Anderson Cooper, David Furnish and The Osbournes all took the stage during the Chopard-sponsored event to fight the nasty retrovirus. Elton, of course, employed his sensational singing skills in a duet with kd lang. How gay!

Despite rumors that Anderson Cooper will be cutting the "live" time of AC360 in half, CNN mouthpieces insist the Coop's staying put:
Today's Variety story about Anderson Cooper 360 is flat wrong. AC360 continues to be a two hour program from 10 to midnight. At 11pm, Anderson reports live for 10-15 minutes and stays live as news warrants.
Phew! We were wondering how we'd fall asleep at night without Cooper's midnight send-off.
Anderson Cooper switched things up last night. Rather than pitching the questions, the CNN anchor caught them on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. In addition to discussing his famous family and life over at CNN, the journo compared his locks to ejaculate: I started [going gray] young. It's funny. It's like premature ejaculation. You know it can happen, but when it actually happens to you it's kind of a shock. We take it The Coop has some stamina…

Last night's CNN/YouTube presidential debates may have been the gayest political debates since - well, ever! We've never seen a network allow so much time to be spent discussing the dirty homos and their political inclusion. Although, it is CNN, the gayest of all the news networks.
Regardless of CNN's sexual proclivity, the network - and voters - kept the democratic candidates on their toes with a slew of lavender-hued queries. Above, Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich hits the ball out of the park while discussing gay marriage, telling a lesbian couple he would allow them to marry:
…If our Constitution really means what it says, that all are created equal, if it really means what it says, that there should be equality of opportunity before the law, then our brothers and sisters who happen to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered should have the same rights accorded to them as anyone else, and that includes the ability to have a civil marriage ceremony.
It's especially powerful coming from his little bobble-head.
Chris Dodd did well, too, again turning the question around to discuss his two-year old and five-year old daughters (whose existence really boggles the mind - go Dodd!). Dodd wouldn't want his little girls discriminated against, you see, so why would he discriminate against the gays. Voters eat that shit with a spoon.
Meanwhile, New Mexico governor Bill Richardson got real about the ever-contentious issue, saying, "I would do what is achievable. What I think is achievable is full civil unions with full marriage rights. I would also press for you a hate crimes act in the Congress." He also pledged to take down "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".
But, wait, there's more…

We saw this queer exchange on last night's Anderson Cooper 360, but totally forgot about it until our friend Queer Beacon sent the video over.
We don't want to say Anderson Cooper comes out while chatting with Erica Hill about her not-so-jealous husband, but we can say we agree with Cooper: Hill's hubby need not fear his adulterous advances.
• Isaiah Washington really can't stop talking about being fired from Grey's Anatomy. Why? Because you're all racist:
I apologized and showed my remorse for what I said and for the pain I caused anyone. If a black man can’t get forgiveness in this country, when so many other people like Robert Downey Jr. and the governor of California get second and third chances … I think that says a lot about race and this country where we stand.
Washington also says that he didn't go to"homophobia rehab":
There is no rehab for homophobia—that was just some crap being put out by the network. I went into an executive counseling program which many people in this industry know about and go to. They knew what the program was but chose to call it what they wanted to fit their agenda. And more importantly, I volunteered for it because I wanted to understand my fight with Patrick and how it got out of hand like that. I wanted to know what I could do to avoid it happening again.
What a saint. And a studio's liability.

Kathy Griffin took a little time out from her Life on the D-List duties to chat with professional curmudgeon Larry King.
In addition to to discussing who's on the A-list - Queen Elizabeth, President Clinton - Griffin declares her undying love for Anderson Cooper: "I'm in love with you Anderson Cooper. Hold me, touch me inappropriately, Anderson Cooper. Come to my home tonight and love me." Cooper, of course, loved it. King? Not so amused.
Thanks virtual matter for the link!
It's no secret Rufus Wainwright's a friend of Dorothy, but do you know who he's not friends with? Anderson Cooper.

• NewsBusters, the watch dog group dedicated to "exposing and combating liberal media bias", are taking aim at GLAAD the group released a statement in which president Neil Giuliano "urges" the media to commemorate Falwell as a homo-hating monster:
As they look back on the life of the Rev. Falwell, media have an opportunity and a responsibility to reflect on the outdated, hurtful attitudes and beliefs he embodied…It's an important opportunity to take stock of how far our nation has come in moving toward a more respectful and inclusive society, and how far we still have to go.
Newsbusters go on to accuse CNN of buying into the Falwell bashing:
On Anderson Cooper 360, CNN correspondent Randi Kaye, who raised eyebrows in December for a story worrying about Saddam suffering when he hanged, shared no comparable horror at the death of Falwell. Her transcript read like a commercial for GLAAD… Anchor Anderson Cooper titled his segments "Faith and Fury," and fury was certainly in heavy rotation on CNN.
If only Evangelical revisionists were in charge of the media…

Coming out at one's job can be difficult, particularly when you work in the allegedly unbiased news media. A number of gay journalists, however, have decided that honestly truly is the best policy - former CNN anchor man, Thomas Roberts, made headlines last fall when he came out (and then again during his controversial conversation with Anderson Cooper, during which Roberts discussed his abuse at the hands of a Catholic priest). In light of Roberts' coming out, AfterElton launched an extensive investigation into the ins and outs of being a homo-journo. In part one of their two part series, the AE boys chat with some of the media's most well-respected gay newsmen (and, yes, they're all men), including uber-handsome Miguel Marquez.

Former CNN newsman Thomas Roberts makes no secret of his homosexuality. The man came out at a National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association conference, for fuck's sake. His sexuality did not come up, however, when Roberts sat down with journalistic peer, Anderson Cooper.
You may recall that the two men chatted about Roberts' experience being sexually abused by a priest - certainly a topic often - and dangerously - discussed in tandem with homosexuality. AfterElton thought so, too, and wrote a post in which they questioned why neither Roberts, nor the Coop referenced Roberts' sexuality.
While it was unquestionably courageous for the man to speak so candidly about his sexual abuse at the hand of the family priest as a teenager, there seemed to be a glaring absence in the discussion: namely, about how Roberts, as an out gay man, has been affected by the abuse as a grown, sexualized adult.
The AE boys recently ran into Roberts and the 35-year old journo was none-too-pleased…
