» Britney On Amy, Beyonce, Herself?

Speaking of choice words, the stunningly loopy Britney Spears allegedly had some strong opinions on Grammy participants Beyonce and Amy Winehouse. Of Beyonce, Spears said, "Too bad she can’t dance as good as Tina — who’s old enough to be her grandmother!" The bipolar singer went on to describe Winehouse as "stoned": "She is so obviously stoned." And Spear so obviously forgot about her VMA performance, where she staggered through a disaster of her own making. [Mollygood]

Just in case you haven't been paying attention, it's a new year. While some of us may have resolved to quit smoking or stop getting crabs, the kids at HRC are pledging to do all sorts of inspirational things, like "keep coming out as a gender queer lesbian" or "put an end to DADT".

Don't be fooled, however. Not all of the activists have their head on straight. One queen vows to "perfect lesson one in the Beyonce handbook, and that is to look better than ever in front of the camera". Girl, you already got that. And, besides, it's innate, not something you learn…

Warning: there's a baby babbling in baby language. We're not sure what he's saying, but it sounds pretty crude. Also, the lesbianic music's really offensive.

Beyonce may be one of the world's biggest stars, but not even she can fight gravity's nefarious downward pull. Watch as the singer stumbles - twice! - at last night's show in Orlando. Don't worry, she didn't hurt anything. Except her pride.

Rufus Hates on Beyonce

Enrique Iglesias may love his tennis pro girlfriend, Anna Kournikova, but he's got mad love for his gay friend's sexual freedom.

NYDN tells us the Latin crooner tells July's Genre:

My stylist is gay and lives in L.A. and when he came to Miami, he went out. And I asked, ‘Your boyfriend doesn't care?' And he said, 'We have an understanding if I'm out of the city.' When I saw George Michael, he said the same thing…I'm going to have to have a talk with my girl!

Taking advise from George Michael, huh? We're not sure that's the most advisable adviser, but we're all about you getting out there and partying.

Meanwhile, Rufus Wainwright ain't loving Beyonce. He tells Spin,

I'm really sick of Beyonce. All of her songs are formulaic and produced in a way that's utterly mesmerizing in the basest way…But hey, it's your life, you know?

Wainwright's griping about formulaic song-writing? Right

• Former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chief, Colin Powell spoke about Don't Ask, Don't Tell on this weekend's Meet The Press. Here's what old Mr. P had to say about the plan he helped devise: "I think it's certainly moving in [away from DADT]. I think the, the country has changed in its attitudes quite a bit. 'Don't ask, don't tell' was an appropriate response to the situation back in 1993. And the country certainly has changed…" While he didn't rescind his historic endorsement of the law, The Front Lines points out he's been mulling the homos: I will not second-guess the commanders who are serving now, just as I didn't want to be second-guessed 12 or 13 years ago. But I think the country is changing. We may eventually reach that point."

Do queer singers have a responsibility to sing about queer things? According to Jake Shears and his Scissor Sisters, no. The American popsters recently sat down with Me-me-me to discuss the art of queering it up. Or, rather, not queering it up.

Debating whether or not the band's so-called queerness informs their music, Shears insists,

I think it’s shaped our aesthetic. There are no gay lyrics, it’s all totally coded. If you’re looking for a gay message, you totally have to dig.

He goes on,

I’m not interested in singing about gay people… I wanted the music to be accessible. I don’t want to appeal to just a tenth of the population.

The interviewer presses the issue, explaining that straight people identify with "straight" music, so it follows that gay people should be able to identify with 'gay" music. To this the openly gay Shears claims that being gay is but a mere part of his identity and admits that he finds queer-centric tunes to be a bit of a bore…

Let's start this week on a high note, shall we? And ain't nothing as high as Beyonce's dress in his video for "Get Me Bodied" of B'Day.

We have the exact same piece, but the NYPD asked us to retire the look after it proved too short to accommodate, if you know what we mean. And we think you do…

The sounds a bit wonky, so we're also including the pop star's "Upgrade You" featuring her main squeeze, Jay-Z. After the jump, of course…

• If there's one thing lesbians love, it's ladies. Yep, they're all about the chicks. So, of course the sappho-journos over at AfterEllen were all over the Shakira/Beyonce mega-collaboration, "Beautiful Liar". We've reposted the video after the jump, but you should head over and see what the girls had to say. "Sometimes, it’s difficult to distinguish Beyoncé from Shakira and Shakira from Beyoncé. But, really, who’s complaining?" Sluts. [AfterEllen]

• Now this is slutty: NYC Man seeks all of Hell's Kitchen. [craigslist]

We've never read Tipping The Velvet by Sarah Waters, but we were just discussing it last night, which makes the discovery of this story all the more surprising.

Apparently Beyonce Knowles and Eva Longoria have signed on to play repressed lesbian lovers in Sofia Coppola's big-screen adaptation of the novel. Those of you familiar with the text (or the BBC version) know that things get pretty sexy, including a scene in which one of the characters gets fucked with a strap-on. Of course, as pioneering career women, Longoria and Knowles are jumping at the opportunity.

Beyoncé and Eva are said to be incredibly excited about the steamy love scenes and can't wait for filming on the project to start.

A source revealed: "They weren't at all coy about the sex scenes. In fact they both seemed to think it would be more fun than doing the same work with a man. It's going to be very hot."

So, what's bizarre about this story? Well, while we haven't read it, our lesbian friend tells us there are no people of color in the book. We suppose Coppola's using her artistic license on this one, which - despite what you may think after Marie Antoinette - is actually a good thing.

(Oh, and in case you don't know: "tipping the velvet" is code for cunnilingus.)

By now you've probably seen the video for Beyonce's single, "Ring the Alarm," in which she lets it all hang out and goes a bit berzerk. Well, Greg Scarnici, a film maker from New York, has made a bit of a spoof.

While we've never met Mr. Scarnici, he was kind enough to share the video with us. And, in turn, we're sharing it with you. Pass 2:37 of what's most likely an arduously slow Friday afternoon and have a laugh. You deserve it.

We especially enjoyed the dancing related injuries. See for yourself, after the jump.

And, of course, check out Greg Scarnici's website to find out more about him and his work.

Summer of 2005 is going to be just as awesome as summer of 2004! Or was it summer of 2003? You know the summer when Beyonce's "Crazy In Love" was playing everywhere… Or "Naughty Girl"… Oh, we're confused now, but this summer will be the summer of "Deja Vu," and it really will feel like we've been there before, except now Jay-Z is rapping along.

Personally we thought "Naughty Girl" was one of the most brilliant songs of 2004, but we do not feel the same way about this new single. It sounds like a jaded attempt at a hit single to us, and its licks just aren't catchy enough to hold our attention. That said, we are certain it will be a huge club hit this summer, so you'd better listen to it now before you're the one asking "what's this song?" on the dancefloor.
