» Appearance…
Catholic League president Bill Donohue will appear on homo-journo Michelangelo Signorile's radio show today to discuss his unholy crusade against gay blog Towleroad and the Democratic National Convention. [The Gist] |
|
One hundred and twenty blogs have been credentialed to cover the party's Convention in Denver next week. While Donohue approves of some, he's vehemently opposed to others, including gay blog Towleroad: Towleroad describes itself as 'A Site with Homosexual Tendencies.' Accordingly, it shows men in jock straps and underwear. It also has a post on Pope Benedict XVI that takes him to task for wearing a cape with ermine. Some of those who commented on this described the pope in a vile and profane way. Donohue then demands DNC Chief of Staff and Convention CEO Leah Daughtry banish the bloggers from the Democratic land. As if that's going to happen. Read the entire press release after the jump… |

You've Got To Be Fucking Kidding Us
Via Smoking Gun: Meet Paul Schum. The Kentucky man, a Catholic school principal, is facing a prostitution charge after Louisville police found him dressed like a woman and loitering in an alley Tuesday night. According to a criminal citation, a copy of which you'll find here, Schum, 50, was wearing fishnet stockings, fake breasts, and "all black leather" when officers discovered him "loitering in high drug trafficking and prostitution area." The citation notes that Schum, who heads Bethlehem High School, had "no reason for why he was in alley…dressed up in women's leather other than for prostitution." Schum, now on paid leave from his school post, is due in court on November 27 to answer a misdemeanor charge of loitering for the intent of prostitution. We wonder what anti-gay Cardinal Jesús López Rodríguez would have to say about this one. Or, better yet, Catholic League leader Bill Donohue. |

Simply Doesn't Know When To Quit
Donohue and his Catholic League raised a stink last month over Miller Beer's sponsorship of the Folsom Street Fair, which used the last supper as its advertising inspiration. Despite Donohue's protests, Miller refused to pull its sponsorship, but did ask the fair's organizers to pull their logo from the offending poster. This wasn't enough for Donohue, who upped the activist ante by sending Miller lewd pictures. Why? Because apparently he thinks some naughty pictures would shame them into apologetics. And it worked! Miller apologized. But poor Donohue still isn't happy. Someone get this man a beer! |
|
New York-based photographer Matteo Trisolini's take on the Last Supper will also be on the block. No word on whether Catholic League Bill Donohue will protest the event, but we bet he'll be intrigued to hear that Bud Light sponsors the queer celebration. |

Last Supper Scandal Lives Again!
Now is the time for S&M Miller to rid itself of its nasty image, so that the new company, MillerCoors, isn’t known as S&M MillerCoors. Since we haven’t gotten assurances from the Milwaukee-based brewer that it will no longer sponsor obscene anti-Christian events like the Folsom Street Fair, we are taking our plea to the Molson and Coors officers and families. Select pictures of what occurred at the street fair will be sent to them today. Wait, wait, wait… Did Donohue just praise a Canadian company over a great American, self-determined company like Miller? That's the most unpatriotic thing we've ever heard! In addition to his blow hard, backward ways, Billy Boy's also harboring some pretty anti-American sentiments. Perhaps now we know where to find Osama Bin Laden: in Donohue's inflated sense of morality. |
