A Brazilian Big Brother contestant confirmed rumors that he digs dudes:

A 31-year-old psychiatrist competing on the wildly popular "Big Brother Brasil 8" ended a week of rabid speculation by acknowledging he is gay. Marcelo, from Uberaba in the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, came out to another contestant this week — making headlines throughout the country.

"I am a normal person," he said, but came clean when Thalita asked if he had a boyfriend at the moment. "Everyone knows now, so I can talk. There is someone who fills my heart," Marcelo replied.

Marcelo had attempted to deflect rumors earlier in the week, but reversed course and released a statement saying, "I know that many will condemn me for coming out, but I don't fear something so natural. God made me this way, and I have pride in myself."

Brazilian teenager Ferruccio Silvestro's gay bashing has caused quite a stir in Brazil. A group of Internet savvy haters took it upon themselves to create an online community centered on homo hating. And that's putting it nicely:

…The violent attack against gay student Ferrucio Silvestro generated a series of homophobic communities on Orkut. O Globo Online reports today about one specif Orkut community created recently and called "Ferruccio devia ter apanhado mais" (or, "Ferrucio should have gotten beaten harder"), which had already been brought to my attention by readers of this blog. The community, which had up to 233 members and included topics such as "kill them all" and "what would you have used to beat him up?", has already been removed from Orkut at this point, but a specific profile still remains up there.

The site's symbol? A skull, of course.

There are new details in the anti-gay bashing of Brazilian teenager Ferruccio Silvestro.

The 19-year old wound up unconscious after three men attacked him outside a club lat week. Now police have heard that a 15-year old may have trigged the unfortunate chain of events:

A 15-year-old boy admitted this past Monday on being partially responsible for the brutal attack… According to O Globo Online, the minor was actually identified by three witnesses, and told the police that the bashing started because he thought that Ferrucio was hitting on him.

No arrests have been made, although O Globo reports that two additional suspects were interviewed, one of whom owns a motorcycle linked to the crime. The plot thickens…

It's not all sunshine and rainbows down Rio way. Made in Brazil passes on the scary story of how 19-year old Ferruccio Silvestro found himself hospitalized:

Leaving a gay club in São Domingos, Niterói, Ferrucio was approached by three middle-class boys in their early 20s who screamed at him "We don't want faggots in our neighborhood."

Gotta love those middle-class values.

Ferruci attempted to flee the frightful situation, but the hooligans chased him to a nearby gas station, where they threw him to the ground and kicked him into unconsciousness.

The student spent four days in the hospital and plans to press charges against the unknown assailants.

Meanwhile, Made in BrazilW informs us that Lupo's in the running for Big Brother. If he's selected there's a good chance we'll see him in the shower - just throwing that out there…

In case your intuition weren't enough, Veja São Paulo confirms that Frenchman Gregor Ervan Londoar's gay pride murder came at the hands of a homo-hater. Club Whirled translates:

With major repercussions, the death of French tourist Gregor Erwan Landouar, stabbed in Jardins on the 10th of June, had a homophobic explanation. The victim had participated in the Gay Pride Parade. "He said in court that he was disgusted when he saw two people of the same sex kissing each other and decided to murder the first person he saw in front of him," said public defender Mauricio Ribeiro Lopes, referring to Genesio Mariuzzi Filho, or "Anthrax", who is being held as the suspect who killed the Frenchman.

Wow. He decided to kill the first person who crossed his path. What a fucking psycho.

The piece goes on to explore the socioeconomic realities surrounding "Anthrax" and his skinhead friends, including their penchant for hanging out in homo hot spots. They're cruising for an anti-gay bruising. Literally.

Brazilian senator Magno Malta resembled a Cromagnum yesterday when he compared gays to pedophiles. Made in Brazil translates the gory details, which came in a speech blasting homo-inclusive hate crime legislation. Apparently Malta thinks gay PDA crosses too many lines:

(Homosexuals) may be having sex under your window, and you won't be able to tell them that there are children around and that that is not appropriate behavior, because then it will be considered discrimination, and you may go to jail for it.

By approving this bill which states that we can no longer discriminate against homosexuality, we would be doing the equivalent of legalizing pedophilia. Bestiality may then also be considered a sexual option. Necrophilia may then also be considered a sexual option. Passing the bill would mean approving that kind of behavior and making it legal.
