The presidential race claims another victim… |
|
Charles Thompson, a senior district court judge for Clark County, Nevada, said he would issue an injunction stopping the debate if Mr. Kucinich is excluded. We're all about the democratic process and equal access, but if Kucinich is so concerned, why didn't he sue on behalf of his other long shot peers? |

Will He Swallow His Words?
Kucinich disagrees: a vote for him is not "wasted". |

More To Kucinich's Obama Support?
Democratic presidential candidate Chris Dodd just sat down with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell and offered a look behind the political curtain. Discussing Dennis Kucinich's recent call for his supporters to support Barack Obama, Mitchell asked Dodd whether he would make a similar endorsement. Dodd's reply: "I'm opposed to making deals to support other candidates". Apparently a number of campaigns are calling rivals - including Dodd - and attempting to sway them toward their camp. We can't help but wonder if Obama's people are saving Kucinich a place in the potential administration… |

Four Dems Fight Bill That Excludes Trans Rights
Despite hundreds and thousands of outraged cries, the House Committee on Education and Labor voted 27-21 to pass a non-inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act. The bill, which tosses trans folks on their asses, will now head to the House of Representatives. As PageOneQ points out, four Democrats voted to stop the bill from going forward: New York's Yvette Clark, Loretta Sanchez of California, New Jersey's Rush Holt and Ohio's tiny presidential candidate, Dennis Kucinich. |

Way to go, Kucinich!! Sorry she looks like a totally intoxicated college kid who'll regret it in the morning… |

Show It With Window Shattering Rock
Hours after Kucinich spread the love at last week's gay forum, a vandal or vandals threw a rock through Kucinich's Cleveland campaign HQ. Dennis Kucinich's presidential campaign office on Lorain Avenue in Cleveland was vandalized early this morning after the congressman appeared with other Democratic candidates on a nationally televised forum on gay rights. We wish we were there to give you a big hug, Denny. We'd offer to help with the mess, but we're not very good with a broom. We'll totally roll up a doobie for you, though, you adorable pot supporting, gay loving politico, you. |

The diminutive Kucinich left the crowd wanting more, Senator Hillary Clinton left people cheering and poor Governor Bill Richardson, meanwhile, left us scratching our heads. |

Perhaps you don't get Logo. Perhaps you thought it'd be a bust. Perhaps you were getting laid for all two hours of it. Either way, we've condensed last night's HRC-Logo Democratic presidential candidate forum to a mere 11-minutes. Still sorta long, we know, but so were some Cliff's Notes in high school. That, and it's worth watching the whole clip. As you might've guessed, we did plenty of editing, but didn't take anything out of context (to our knowledge). But surely you'll find something awry. At the very least: You can skip all the discussion threads on DailyKos.com and still feel like you're in tune with politics. |

Regardless of CNN's sexual proclivity, the network - and voters - kept the democratic candidates on their toes with a slew of lavender-hued queries. Above, Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich hits the ball out of the park while discussing gay marriage, telling a lesbian couple he would allow them to marry: …If our Constitution really means what it says, that all are created equal, if it really means what it says, that there should be equality of opportunity before the law, then our brothers and sisters who happen to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered should have the same rights accorded to them as anyone else, and that includes the ability to have a civil marriage ceremony. It's especially powerful coming from his little bobble-head. Chris Dodd did well, too, again turning the question around to discuss his two-year old and five-year old daughters (whose existence really boggles the mind - go Dodd!). Dodd wouldn't want his little girls discriminated against, you see, so why would he discriminate against the gays. Voters eat that shit with a spoon. Meanwhile, New Mexico governor Bill Richardson got real about the ever-contentious issue, saying, "I would do what is achievable. What I think is achievable is full civil unions with full marriage rights. I would also press for you a hate crimes act in the Congress." He also pledged to take down "Don't Ask, Don't Tell". But, wait, there's more… |

Kucinich Crushes on Queer Marriage
The candidates are pretty uniform in their beliefs, with everyone opposing Don't Ask, Don't Tell, state decision making in terms of marriage and equal rights non-discrimination with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity. No shocker on those fronts. There is however a bit to discuss in terms of Dennis Kucinich… |
