Dina Matos-McGreevey and her lawyers are fighting former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey over "salacious" testimony from Teddy Pedersen, Mr. McGreevey's campaign driver who claims he and the McGreeveys had a number of threesomes. |
|
Document sealing Judge Karen Cassidy ruled in the former NJ Governor's favor yesterday, dismissing Dina Matos-McGreevey's claims of emotional distress: The judge dismissed Dina Matos McGreevey's claim of emotional distress against her estranged gay husband. Though Mr. McGreevey didn't comment - for once! - the disgraced politico's lawyers welcome the news, saying Mrs. Matos-McGreevey should "read between the lines" with regard to the fraud claims. Cassidy also discussed the couple's forthcoming divorce trial, which starts on May 6th, and warned the world that we're going to start hearing some pretty wild tales. More wild than all that threesome talk: "We all know what happened this week. What evidence will likely be heard in this case, this week was just the tip of the iceberg." Great! Bring it. We love the McGreevey drama more than our own mother! (Just kidding, mom!) |
|
[Cassidy] issued an order to seal all filings, transcripts and future hearings related to the "custody and parenting time" of 6-year-old Jacqueline McGreevey. The judge even sealed the document spelling out her reasoning behind the ruling but said it was with consent of the parties. Never fear, though, there's no gag order, so we can be sure to get all sorts of tidbits straight from the McGreevey's mouths. |

The allegations punched a big hole in Dina's story - she had no inkling of Jim's gay ways. Sensing her advantage slipping - and the press light turning - Dina issued a statement denying Pedersen's carnal claims, which in turn spurred Jim to release his own confirmatory statement, which then sparked yet another assertion from Pedersen: Dina is still in denial. It’s time for her to face the truth. If Dina wants to take a lie detector test with me, I will sit down with her any time, any place. The only reason that I spoke to the media is because she dragged me into her divorce. Oooo, girl, that's a challenge. How long until Dina cames back out for more press? Place your bets! |

First Dina accused her estranged hubby of planting Teddy Pedersen's ménage à trois allegations for "attention". Not to be outdone, former NJ governor Jim's issued a statement backing Pedersen up, pardon the pun: In an e-mail to The Associated Press, the nation's first openly gay governor said published reports by former campaign aide Teddy Pedersen were true. Ah, now our imaginations can run wild! And it's frightening! PS: Pedersen's girlfriend must be so proud! |
|
Well, it apparently runs through New Jersey, because former first lady Dina Matos-McGreevey denies Teddy Pedersen's allegations that he used to fornicate with Dina and her soon-to-be ex-hubby, Jim McGreevey: Theodore Pedersen's claims, as reported in the Newark Star Ledger on March 16, are completely false and were prompted by Jim McGreevey. This all has to do with the publicity I have received since Governor Spitzer resigned. Dina goes on to allege that Pedersen and Mr. McGreevey have a continuing "close relationship," whatever that means. |

Teddy Pedersen alleges that he used to have some wild nights with Dina and former Governor hubby, "gay American" Jim McGreevey. |

In addition the yesterday's comments, the former NJ first lady today penned a relatively long NY Times op-ed again expressing her solidarity with Silda Spizter. Don't be fooled into thinking this some girl-on-girl counseling, because the piece is all about Dina - and her martyrdom: But no, there’s no protocol for the spouse or partner stuck in the klieg lights. Sure, political consultants will tell you that it’s better to see a politician standing up with his wife by his side. But who cares what they think? At that stage, it’s over anyway. What are the advisers trying to salvage? That's the same daughter Mrs. McG uses as a pawn in her ongoing divorce drama. Disgusting. |

This gal got a grade-A scandal education when her husband, former NJ Governor Jim McGreevey, came out as a "gay American". Mrs. McG previously imparted her wisdom to Suzanne Craig, and now she's back to comfort Silda Spitzer, whose stony, press conference stare brought back many memories for Dina: "It all came back to me. I'm reliving that moment and what it was like standing there next to Jim. I wanted to embrace her and say,`Be strong, you'll survive this.'" Dina also insisted that Mrs. Spitzer ignore her husband's political advisers and "not what's politically expedient for him". As for the "him" in this equation, Mrs. McG thinks the governor should resign, of course. |

Jim McGreevey may say he didn't committ fraud by marring a woman, but soon-to-be ex-wife Dina Matos-McGreevey still wants $605,999 in damages. She claims she's entitled to the perks of being married to a former Governor, or something. [NY Post] |

Former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey rebutted his wife Dina's fraud charges by using their six-year old daughter as evidence of his sexual sincerity. Dina claims the politico - who came out in 2004 - duped her into a loveless marriage, but McGreevey insists little Jacqueline's life proves otherwise: Whether or not Dina Matos McGreevey knew her husband, former Gov. James E. McGreevey, was gay should not matter because there was a marriage that produced a child, and thus no fraud was perpetrated, McGreevey alleged in divorce papers released today. Air tight! |

Does Gossip Rag Lack Basic Comprehension, Class?
Jeff Bercovici first brought the conflation to our attention, which prompted a response from the kids over at GLAAD. |

In total, I need $11,162 per month to meet my expenses. This lifestyle by no means approximates the lifestyle which plaintiff enjoys, much less the lifestyle we enjoyed while plaintiff was governor, but it will allow Jacqueline and me to live a lifestyle I can maintain on my income together with a reasonable amount of support from plaintiff. Maybe she's saving up for a brain. • Lesbians are running this Hollywood shit. • Are New York's "finest" trumping up charges to crack down on queer clubs? • Styx bassist Chuck Panozzo on coming clean about his sexuality: I'm sitting there going, 'What a wonderful career, but your personal life sucks. 'These albums are not going to come off the wall and hug you. They're not going to comfort you and caress you.' I told myself that if I made it through this illness, I would dedicate myself to living an authentic life. I wasted the first 50. I'm not going to waste whatever I had left. "An authentic life"…well put. |

Starts In On Theological Career
The former Catholic became an Episcopalian earlier this year. He's got one year grace period before he can enter the clergy, according to NYDN. Always one for the spotlight, McGreevey apparently avoided reporters yesterday, saying: "I'm trying to be respectful of the seminary and their culture. They're really low key." And, of course, soon-to-be ex-wife Dina Matos McGreevey offered a jab: "I certainly wouldn't look to him for guidance or advice." Nor would we… |

• Some extra aural for the long weekend. Here's Pacific Gas & Electric with "Are You Ready?" • Larry Craig to announce plans tomorrow. We bet he resigns. • Speaking of bets. What are the odds Suzanne Craig will pull a Dina Matos McGreevey and tell all? |
