Kylie Minogue's taking a sci-fi spin this holiday season.

The Australian singer - and former soap star - signed on for a "very special" episode of BBC's queer-friendly series, Dr. Who - whose gay character, Jackharkness, spun off on his in Torchwood.

The episode in question - "Voyage of the Damned" - begins filming in Wales next month and apparently Minogue's "thrilled":

It is an incredible thrill to be joining David and the entire Dr Who production for this year's Christmas special. Dr Who enjoys a unique history and it is going to be very exciting to be a part of that.

Judging from Kylie's wardrobe, she's been preparing for her out of this world appearance.

John Barrowman, the star of Dr. Who and the hot bleach blond Nazi in The Producers, recently got married in England to his boyfriend of ten years. That boyfriend is one lucky chap.
