» 'Yes on 8' Uses Elton John's Words to Support Cause

An email sent out by Jeff Flint, the head of the Yes on 8 campaign to supporters cited a USA Today interview with Elton John that came out this week where the singer said "I don't want to be married. I'm very happy with a civil partnership. If gay people want to get married, or get together, they should have a civil partnership." The email asked supporters for donations and decries the recent protests against Prop. 8. [LAT]

Awww, actor Dustin Milligan's an absolutely contrite doll!

Milligan, whom some of you may recognize as the heartthrob Ethan on 90210, once recorded some sort of video in which he described Elvis as the "king of homos," which obviously isn't true. Everyone knows that's Elton.

Anyway, Milligan's given the joke some thought and now feels totally bad about it, so he's written another blog apologizing to all the gays and straights and everyone in-between:

To all my readers, gay, straight, bi, still deciding: I'm truly sorry and deeply embarrassed by this. My personal views on homosexuality and bisexuality and sexuality in general are so far from the dark place where these kinds of hateful terms come from and are not at all reflected accurately by such a statement. Especially now, when same-sex marriage is such a big issue in the US, I feel the days when jokingly calling someone a "homo" or saying "that's gay" are simply over.

No one should be made to feel like they or their sexuality/lifestyle is synonymous with "stupid", and no one should be made to feel like they are less than anyone else because of who they love. It's almost like how, in the past, everyone used to drop the N-bomb like it was a day of the week, but now it's totally unacceptable. I feel, hope, that down the line, it will be the same with sexually derogatory terms as well.

I hope my kids never use these hurtful words as flippantly as I have. Again, I am ashamed for having said it and to everyone out there, fans, friends, family, and the LGBT community: I'm sorry.

Apology accepted, Milligan - although we were never really offended because we had never read your blog. Still, it's the thought that counts and all that jazz…

Don't mess with Elton John, because this queen holds a grudge.

Lily Allen says there are no hard feelings between her and the legendary singer, with whom she traded drunken, barbed insults at last week's GQ Awards in London, but John says otherwise.

Elton now says the spat has put him off collaborating with the 'Smile' singer.

"I was thinking about asking her to tour with me and maybe even do a duet. Obviously that won't be happening," he told the Metro.

Allen makes no apologies for her drunken behavior, which included telling Elton to "fuck off."

Elton John and a drunken, slurring Lily Allen got into it big time at a GQ awards show in London last night:

…When [Allen] introduced Carol Vorderman to the stage with a verbal tirade, saying 'Fuck' no fewer than five times in the same sentence, her co-host decided enough was enough.

When Miss Allen came to announce '…and now the most important part of the night', Elton chipped in 'What? Are you going to have another drink?'

She fired back: 'Fuck off Elton. I am 40 years younger than you and have my whole life ahead of me!'

A clearly rattled Elton replied 'I could still snort you under the table'. To which she replied: 'Fuck off. I don't know what you are talking about.'

Yes, you do, Lily. He's talking about cocaine!

Mario Testino, Elton John, Bill Clinton and other rich, famous people attended the 10th Annual White Tie and Tiara Ball, which raises money for Sir John's eponymous AIDS foundation. For no good reason other than it's Friday, here are some pictures of the host and the former president. Aren't they just precious?!

Elton John's "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" invariably makes us teary. Throw in fellow homo George Michael and its full on water works. We feel much better now that we've gotten that doozy off our collective chest.

Elton John's love for Hillary Clinton may be tainted.

The British-born singer crooned last week for the presidential candidate, thus helping her raise $2.5 million, but now right-wing Judicial Watch has filed a formal FEC complaint against Clinton.

Radio City Music Hall was brimming with Hillary Clinton love last night, when singer Elton John performed a one-off fund raiser for the presidential hopeful. The Briton told the crowd that he whole-heartedly supports the Senator, and apparently the crowd did, too: they raised $2.5 million for her campaign.

John also took the time to take on what he calls America's misogyny: "I'm amazed by the misogynistic attitudes of some of the people in this country. And I say to hell with them …. I love you Hillary, I'll be there for you."

» Playing Gay?

Musician Eminem will reportedly portray Elton John in an early years biopic. Said one source: "Eminem was not keen on kissing any men, so this early biopic is ideal for him. He gets to play Elton before he started all that gay stuff." So, is that B.G.? [Pink News - Fooled us!]

New fag stag Barack Obama better watch out, because Hillary Clinton's called in the Queen of all gays, Elton John!

The legendary pianist will perform a Madison Square Garden Radio City Music Hall concert for Mrs. Clinton on April 9, the first time he's played at the venue since 2000. John's so psyched about Clinton's candidacy, he even wrote a personal letter to supporters:

There is nothing I like better than throwing a party for a good friend. Will you come out to support my friend Hillary Clinton at a special, one-night-only solo concert in New York? I promise this will be one night that you won’t want to miss.

That's some real heart. And it's got a price tag: $250-2,300 a ticket or $10,000 to get all VIP with John and the Clintons. Start counting those pennies!

Elton John's Oscar bash was the place to be seen last night. Sean Penn and Patricia Clarkson were glowing, while Chace Crawford and JC Chasez got tongues wagging by sticking together during the event.

While those folk are all well and good, we're completely fascinated by this picture of Sean "Whosafuck" Combs with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. Is this not the perfect trio? We've heard all sorts of rumors about Combs' sexuality, but - for some reason - it's this picture that makes us believe…

retroCRUSH recently published their list of twenty-five the "the greatest duets of all time". The forgot to include Aretha Franklin and George Michael's “I Knew You Were Waiting," but did include another old British queen, Elton John, who teamed up with Kiki Dee for "Don't Go Breaking My Heart".

Elton John's getting political. The bent British singer decided to use his fame and power to endorse homo Brian Paddick for London mayor.

Sir Elton John and his civil partner David Furnish are lending their support to Brian Paddick, the Liberal Democrat candidate in the London mayoral election.

One option being considered is for the celebrity couple to hold a fundraising dinner for Paddick, who was until recently Britain’s most senior openly gay police officer.

The endorsement is likely to increase Paddick’s appeal to London’s younger voters, as well as to some members of the gay community.

Um, really? Because the gays were probably already aware of Paddick's candidacy and the youth- well, do the youth care about Elton John. We figure he's bigger among the old queen set.

A Brit Sings In Abu Dhabi

No doubt Elton John's one of the world's most visible, politically active gays. One can't help but wonder, then, why the singer chose to perform in an anti-gay nation:

Sir Elton John has surprised fans by announcing he will play his first gig in the United Arab Emirates later this month. The flamboyantly gay star… will perform at an open-air concert in Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace Hotel.

The decision could leave Sir Elton open to charges of hypocrisy, because of the UAE's poor record on human rights.

Homosexuality is illegal: those convicted of it face jail sentences, or compulsary psychiatric 'treatment', including the injection of hormones designed to 'cure' them.

Repressive or not, the United Arab Emirate's money's still green. Wait, actually the dirham notes run on a rainbow spectrum. Hmmm…
