Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly tried to fuel the dormant Democratic party's civil war today when she suggested Bill and Hillary Clinton were going to vote for John McCain.

Said Kelly as the Clintons went into their voting station:

Who do you think they're voting for? Seriously. It may not be Barack Obama if you believe a lot of theories. IT MAY BE JOHN MCCAIN! Their last hope that Hillary can come back four years from now and take over in the Oval Office.

Kelly colleague Bill Hemmer brought the conversation back down to earth, but that didn't stop Kelly from getting in one more shot: "I would love to be a little birdie over their shoulders, Bill and Hillary." She then let out some sort of "oh" shriek.

"[The] shift leftwards online has been matched on cable television, where Fox News, the rightwing news channel, has increasingly faced its mirror image at MSNBC. The latter’s leftish talk-show hosts, Keith Olbermann and now Rachel Maddow, a chirpy gay liberal, dish out scorn about Republicans in opposition to Bill O’Reilly and others at Fox." The rotund gent you see at right is being indicted in the city of New York for snatching a McCain campaign sign from the hands of a middle-aged woman, snapping it in half and then punching the GOP supporter, who's been described as "small" and "quiet," in the face.

Witnesses to the assault said the man gave no indication as to why he was attacking the lady, to whom he said only, "You people are ridiculous!"

What a crazy man. But what's even crazier is this…

Sarah Palin took to the gentle, fair and balanced Fox News this morning to discuss her absolutely pathetic Katie Couric interview, which the Alaskan governor said was "annoying."

Palin continued, saying Couric's questions were unfair and that she would have preferred to discuss all the stupid fucking lies she's been trained to believe are the truth, because she's the goddamn Manchurian candidate.

Video after the jump.

This short clip, courtesy of FOX News, makes us laugh hysterically. The "fair and balanced" network went to a Pennsylvania diner to see who was voting for Obama and who was voting for McCain. After a show of hands, the reporter declared it "a split," although it totally wasn't. At all.

John McCain aide Nancy Pfotenhauer appeared on Fox News today to decry this Thursday's vice-presidential debate, where poor Sarah Palin will have to discuss things she doesn't understand, like foreign policy, a subject in which opponent Joe Biden will likely dominate.

Fox's Steve Doocy then remarks, "It sounds like they're stacking the deck against her, because everybody knows that's Joe Biden's forte." Boo-fucking-hoo.

Tim Graham is the portly Director of Media Analysis at the Media Research Center, which sounds very Marshall McLuhan but in actuality is a conservative watchdog group. So already you know what station he likes to make guest appearances on (hint: rhymes with "box").

And Tim Graham, like any other red-blooded American male, is fascinated by lesbians, most notably MSNBC's Rachel Maddow

Barack Obama had secret meetings with Fox News and mogul Rupert Murdoch to express concerns over the channel's coverage of him and his campaign. The camps must have ironed out their differences, because Obama will appear on Bill O'Reilly's show this Thursday, the same night John McCain accepts the Republican presidential nomination. [WaPo]

Oh, it's Fox News! Of course!

Fox News' efforts to cover the "far left" groups gathering in Denver were met with a bit of creative criticism, like a crowd chanting "Fuck Fox News." The poor journalist is simply left theorizing, "I guess they don't believe in freedom of speech." On the contrary…

Fox New has apologized for trashing trans America's Next Top Model contestant Isis: "…We aired a segment about a transgender by the name of Isis, who will compete in the upcoming season of the television show America’s Next Top Model. The group GLAAD, Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation sent us an email saying it was offensive. That was not our intention. We apologize." [GLAAD]

Running for President was the single best thing former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee ever could have done: "Less than one month after signing on as a Fox News commentator, Mike Huckabee is working aggressively to expand his media presence. This week, Huckabee is meeting with Fox officials about plans to host his own show on the network. Plus, he’s subbing for Paul Harvey on ABC Radio Network and appearing on a number of existing Fox shows." [Politico]

Howard Wolfson, a top adviser to Hillary Clinton during her presidential campaign, will join the likes of Karl Rove as an analyst for Fox News. Remarked Wolfson of his new gig, "Fox has the largest audience in cable television — many of its viewers are independents who will help decide the next election. It's critically important for strong progressives to be talking to and offering analysis to that audience." [Washington Post]

We recently got into a debate with a friend in which we argued that Americans have evolved since the 2000 and 2004 elections. While we think that may be true in some respects, apparently it's not universal: "Fox News is poised to reclaim the title of the most-watched cable news network in the key advertising demographic in the second quarter of 2008. The cable channel attracted the most 25- to 54-year-old viewers in prime-time this quarter, according to preliminary Nielsen Media Research data, drawing an average of 346,000 in that age group through Tuesday."
