The freshest issue of French fag rag TÊTU features scrumptious model Édouard Collin.

As if that's not enough incentive to buy the monthly, the staffers also churned out stories on gay twins and their secrets, offer an analysis of the American presidential election and offer this startling new trend: "Romance is back". No one told us…

France got a judicial spanking yesterday. The European Court of Human Rights ruled that the nation discriminated against a lesbian teacher for denying her adoption claim.

A French court decided last year that the single woman couldn't have her dream child, particularly because of a lack of a "paternal referant".

The European Court said, however, that since heterosexual singles can adopt, there's no reason why the unnamed lesbian should have been refused.

Double Standards

francehivad.jpg
France's Advertising Standards Authority banned an HIV awareness campaign because it's too "explicit". Gay activists such as ACT UP Paris are crying foul:

French organizations devoted to the fight against AIDS such as Act Up Paris criticized on Wednesday that advertising is judged depending on whether its characters are gays or heterosexuals. "This kind of measures are not taken when the protagonists are heterosexuals. It is an insult to the gay community", a spokesman for the Act Up Paris organization said.

And here we thought Parisians were more liberal with sexuality…

Did Parkinson's Treatment Have Unwanted Side Effect?

pinkpills.jpg
A French man claims his doctor's drug choices had some queer side-effects:

A French court is set to award substantial damages to a 47-year-old father-of-two with Parkinson's disease who was ruled to have been turned into a gambler and thief, with compulsive homosexual urges, by the drugs he was being treated with.

Didier Jambart, a French defense ministry employee, has been suing for damages of €400,000 after being prescribed with dopamine agonist drugs in a case that is being closely studied by lawyers representing Parkinson's sufferers in Britain, the US and Canada. Like Jambart, they claim that they were provided with minimal information about the disturbing side effects, estimated to affect up to 15 per cent of those taking the drugs.

Jambart's strange symptoms began with nighttime gambling, but he soon ventured into the wild world of online trolling. This reminds us of Andrew Z. Tong's case against SAC Capital, only more believable.

At Least Someone's Speaking Out

Iran's anti-gay ways ain't making it many friends. While the United States government has yet to speak out against 21-year old Makwan Moloudzadeh's execution, the French government issued a statement Friday. We received said statement in French and used an elementary program to translate. We've included the original French version after the jump.

France condemned Friday the execution by Iran of a 20 year old Iranian, Makwan Moloudzadeh, condemned for rapes of teenagers whom it would have made at the 13 years age.

Paris "condemns the execution on December 5, in spite of multiple interventions of the European Union, of Mr. Makwan Mouloudzadeh which had been condemned to mortpour a crime that it would have made at the 13 years age", declared carries-paroledu it Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Pascale Andréani.

France "considers it regrettable that Iran has not respected its obligations international with title of Pact international relating to civil laws and political and of Convention on rights of child, which prohibits both without ambiguity the execution of minors or people condemned for committed crimes whereas they were minor", it added. "We exhort Iran to put a term at executions of minors for whom it holds the sad world record, and to proscribe in a general way the capital punishment", the spokesman continued. The hanging of the young man changed to 280 the number of people carried out in Iran since the beginning of the year, according to a calculation of AFP…

Hey, Condi! Where you at, girl?

Did 68-Year Old Kill 18?

psycho_shower-1.jpg
Frenchman Nicolas Panard's past may have caught up with him. Police arrested the 68-year old yesterday for his potential role in at least 18 murders. Yes, 18 - and many of his victims were gay men:

A 68-year-old man has been detained by French police in connection with as many as 18 murders between 1980 and 2002.

Most of the victims were gay men. Nicolas Panard was arrested in the French city of Mulhouse yesterday.

He is reported to be well-known on the gay scene and previously worked as a drag performer.

Police already jailed Panard's alleged accomplice for another murder.

Though they have no concrete evidence of Panard's bloody past, his name appeared in a number of unsolved crime files, all of which featured similar murderous methods, ie: blows to the head, stabbings and partially naked bodies with their faces covered. Coincidence?

Probably not.

Anti-Gay Government Supports Twisted Traditions

We're sorry to do this to you so early in the morning, but you've got to hear this absolutely gruesome story. A French teenager's Dubai vacation turned into a nightmare when three men kidnapped and raped him before dumping his bloodied body behind a glistening hotel.

Did Fiend Flee To France - Or Beyond?

markjames.jpg
British police have a manhunt on their hands.

47-year old Mark James pleaded guilty to knowingly infecting his lover with HIV. Between being found guilty and his sentencing, however, James went missing. And police fear he's taken his dirty game international:

A nationwide hunt has so far failed to find James and the Metropolitan Police said the search was now international.

Police said their inquiries led them to believe James had spent time in France.

James, of Park Road, Burgess Hill, is the first gay man to be convicted of recklessly passing on the virus.

James has been on the run since last year, so we suspect he's made it a little further than France.

Junior Edition Includes "Disparaging" Slang

scrabble-tiles-1.jpg
It was meant to be an idyllic game of virtual children's Scrabble. Unfortunately, Irishman Zachary McAdam's and his 7-year old daughter's lives may have been ruined when an anagram read "lesbo".

That's right - the makers of Scrabble included a slang word for lesbian in their collection of premeditated words. Sound the alarm! McAdam explains his reaction after lesbo took over his screen:

We were stuck trying to find the last five-letter anagram so I hit the give-up option and the term 'lesbo' appeared on the screen. I nearly fell off my chair.

The term 'lesbo' is a slang name intentionally meant to cause offence. I looked it up on the website dictionary.com just to make sure I wasn't over- reacting and it described the word as a noun, slang, disparaging and offensive.

French Fashionista Scoffs At "Degrading" Advert

As Milan celebrates fashion week, civilians and sartorialist alike have been awestruck by an anti-anorexia advert. While some people laud the billboard, French fashionista Didier Grumbach finds it "scandalous":
I'm pleased this is not happening in France. I find this absolutely scandalous.

Winning notoriety through people's illness is painful. What we're seeing here is sensationalism by a label, to the detriment of an extremely serious social problem. This young girl is not a model. This is low behavior. It is degrading.

Wait, doesn't the fashion industry make billions on perpetuating stick thin ideals? Talk about low behavior.

AIDS ads can go in one ear and out the other. We've all seen the billboards, posters and pamphlets: You too can prevent fresh HIV infections. Essential, yes, but not very exciting.

Oh la la, indeed. Our friends over at Oh la la Blog passed along these scrumptious Nicolas Wagner snapped shots of model Leo from the new issue of French fag rag, Tetu. And now we're passing them on to you. Call it a hunch, but we think you'll enjoy them.

If you like these, check out Wagner's website. Be warned, though, you will get sucked in and will most likely walk away (navigate away?) feeling less attractive than when you arrived.
