"The attorneys general of 10 states are urging the California Supreme Court to delay finalizing its ruling to legalize same-sex marriage. The attorneys general say in court documents filed Thursday that they have an interest in the case because they would have to determine if their states would recognize the marriage of gay residents who wed in California. They want the court to stay its ruling until after the November election, when voters likely will decide whether to amend the state constitution to ban gay marriage." [SOVO]

Chemistry.com's New Ad Campaign Hits The Spot

chemcam.jpg
Chemistry.com struck another blow against rival eHarmony. The dating sites have been at war for months now, largely because of Chemistry.com's aggressive ad campaign. A previous series questioned eHarmony's queer exclusion. Now a new round rags on eHarmony founder Dr. Neil Clark Warren's celibacy celebration:

Dr. Warren, a former seminary student who has had several books published by Focus on the Family, an evangelical Christian group, has publicly voiced his belief that premarital sex can increase the likelihood of one’s marrying the wrong person.

No way, Warren: screwing helps weed out the losers.

eHarmony, meanwhile, reiterated that they have nothing against gays. Nor are they swayed by Warren's evangelical roots. The site simply doesn't have the appropriate "psychological data" to pair same-sex couples.

Damn our bent brains!

Ask Court To Do The Same

In other San Diego-related news:

Dozens of religious and faith leaders across San Diego are lending their support to same-sex marriage. On Wednesday, local ministers held a service celebrating in support of the controversial issue, filing a resolution, called an amicus brief, in the state's Supreme Court. The religious leaders from many faiths including Unitarian Universalism, reformed Judaism, Islam, and Buddhism, are among 400 others to have filed a resolution asking the court to approve the same-sex marriage licenses.

Will anti-gay Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger hear their cries? Probably not, but it's the thought that counts.

Takes On Craig's "Self-Hatred"

bill-clinton-1.jpg
Bill Clinton holds no grudges. The former President appeared on Larry King Live last night to discuss his wife, Hillary, as well as his new book.

Of course King couldn't resist bringing up Larry Craig, the Republican Senator who famously - and hilariously! - took on Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Is Clinton jumping for joy over Craig's downfall? Hardly.

In addition to offering some empathy, the politico also takes a stab at analyzing Craig and others' self-hatred.

Check out the transcript, after the jump.
