Ontario's Deputy Premier George Smitherman's one happy homo. The 43-year old politico spent his Sunday wedding his longtime lover, Christopher Peloso.

Standing before 200 of their nearest and dearest, the men exchanged vows at a "rustic" resort called Laurentian Lodge.

Though some may call Smitherman's move political, the newly wed insists that ain't the case:

We haven't sought to make it political. It happens to be who I am and what I've done for almost my entire adult life so it's no surprise that it is going to have some political elements to it. It was going to make a statement wherever it was.
