"Horrific" and "evil". Those are two of the adjectives MP George Galloway used to describe a knife attack on a 20-year old gay man known only as Olly.

Olly and a girl friend were leaving an East London bar this week when a gang of five men seized upon him, broke a bottle on his and stabbed him seven times in the back and torso. Obviously Olly's not doing well and remains in hospital. Coppers, meanwhile, are skipping over assault charges and going straight for attempted murder.

The viciousness of the attack sparked Galloway's outrage. He remarked: "This is a sickening and vile assault. A near fatal knife attack on a defenseless man is horrific enough. The fact that this also appears to be a homophobic hate crime compounds the evil."

The idea of a gay gang mate's too much for some Baltimore teens, say Prosecutors.

Steven T. Hollis III and Juan L. Flythe, who may be part of the Blood gang, remain in prison after allegedly stabbing and stomping their friend Steven Parrish to death after finding "gay" text messages on his phone.

Enraged by their findings, Hollis and Flythe - 18 and 17, respectively - followed 18-year old Parrish into the woods and murdered him, say investigators…

Texas man Terry Mark Mangum faces a dismal future.

A judge this week sentenced the 27-year old to life in prison for the 2007 murder of 46-year old Kenneth Cummings, a flight attendant Mangum met at a local gay bar. After leaving the bar together, Mangum went to Cummings house, where he stabbed him in the head before burning and burying the body.

It was, schizophrenic Mangum says, God's plan:

Shortly after the murder, Mangum admitted to the crime in a jailhouse interview with a reporter from The Facts, a Brazoria County newspaper. Mangum told the reporter, who testified during the weeklong trial, that God had called on him to “carry out a code of retribution” by killing a gay man because “sexual perversion” is “the worst sin.”

Mangum later pleaded not guilty to the crime by reason of insanity. Psychologists testified during the trial that Mangum is delusional and schizophrenic, according to The Facts. Mangum, who went by the names of biblical characters during interviews with the reporter and police, believed he was “anointed and appointed by God” to commit the murder, the psychologists testified.

The insanity plea wasn't enough to save Mangum from a hate crime charge, which accounts for his steep sentencing and makes parole a bit tricky. But he won't have to worry about that for about thirty years or so.

On another note - Mangum? That's unfortunate.

Slain gay teen Lawrence King's parents are making it hard to be sympathetic.

The family filed a lawsuit last week against the 15-year old's school district for "failing to enforce a dress code, which allegedly spurred Brandon McInerney to shoot King in the head last February:

The parents and brother of 15-year-old Larry King filed a personal injury claim against the Hueneme school district seeking unspecified damages.

The claim, filed last week in Ventura County Superior Court, says administrators and teachers failed to enforce the school's dress code when King wore feminine clothing and makeup to school.

At the time of his death, King lived in a nearby youth shelter. He had been removed from his parents' home six months before, but no details have been released on what exactly went down. It seems to us the parents may not be angels in all of this.

Besides, is there a dress code saying boys can't wear makeup?
