Hugh Hefner's always been one of our heroes. We would definitely argue that without him, and the sexual revolution he helped fuel, there never would have been a gay rights uprising. Plus, he totally had it in his younger days and no doubt fueled a few gay fantasies at the Playboy Club.

Considering his free love philosophy, we're surprised by the timidity of Hefner's one gay experience, of which author Steven Watts writes about in his new Hefner biography, Mr. Playboy: Hugh Hefner and the American Dream. Via NY Post:

The book also claims Hef once tried a gay tryst. "Hefner's thirst for sexual experience became so strong that he even had a one-time homosexual experience," Watts writes. "One evening in downtown Chicago he was propositioned and, according to Sellers, he 'thought, what the hell. Found it an interesting experience. As far as I know, the guy just gave him [oral sex].'"

We expected more, Hefner.

Good thing there's another celebrity keeping things kinky! "Which A-list actor, who yells from the rooftops that he is straight, approached a male Off-Broadway star in a bar and offered to pay him big bucks to watch him and another dude get it on in the rest room?" The only person we can think of is Mario Lopez, because he's currently on Broadway, but does he qualify as A-list?
