Not that McClellan's the most objective viewer, seeing as how he literally wrote the book about George the 2nd being a naive, goofy pawn for his father, Karl Rove, and Dick Cheney.

Could former White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove be going down?

A House panel Wednesday voted to cite former top White House aide Karl Rove for contempt of Congress as its Senate counterpart publicly pursued possible punishments for an array of alleged past and present Bush administration misdeeds.

Voting along party lines, the House Judiciary Committee said that Rove had broke the law by failing to appear at a July 10 hearing on allegations of White House influence over the Justice Department, including whether Rove encouraged prosecutions against Democrats.

The committee decision is only a recommendation, and it was unclear whether Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., would allow a final vote.

The Department of Justice's "misdeeds" include vetting potential hires' political affiliations and sexuality.

Democratic National Committee Chief of Staff Leah Daughtry may not have been entirely honest with Washington DC.

The New York-born Pentecostal minister turned politico allegedly exploited DC's property tax exemptions. That's not a scandal, of course. Countless citizens use the Homestead Deduction to cut their tax rates nearly in half. The district's law states, however, that to take advantage of the deduction, you must vote in DC. Some say Daughtry didn't get the memo, because she's been registered to vote in New York City since February 21, 1996. The original deduction law said nothing about voting in DC, but lawmakers changed the rule back in 2002.

If this story sounds familiar, it should: Bush henchman Karl Rove played the same game back in 2005 until the Washington Post exposed his illegal exploitation.

One would think that an insider such as Daughtry would have noted Rove's outing, but the DNC staffer must have been distracted - she's voted in New York four times since the new law went into effect. Daughtry's property is currently valued at $239,250. That price doesn't include the land, which boosts the total to $341,780.

Daughtry isn't alone, either. As The Washington Blade reported, Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council chair Claire Lucas also stands accused of manipulating DC's laws to her financial advantage.

Ms. Daughtry did not reply to our comment inquiries by press time. We'll definitely let you know if and when she offers a statement. In the meantime, you can pour over all the evidence, which we've included below.

Update: The DNC just sent over this statement. They claim Daughtry had no knowledge of the deduction:

Rev. Daughtry has made clear that her legal residence is in New York, that she did not believe she was entitled to the Homestead Deduction, and that her accountant is correcting the error. Once again, while the DNC has consistently refused to comment on this case out of respect for the legal process and to protect the interests of everyone involved, the plaintiffs continue to use dishonest and increasingly desperate smear tactics to try their case outside the courtroom.

We wonder if she'll be paying DC the money she owes…

We would publish the pictures, but we find them more disturbing than the idea of Karl Rove getting fisted.

• Final leg of federal investigation into Mark Foley's illicit instant messages is slow going. It turns out neither Mark Foley nor the US House of Representatives will turn over the computers. (The FBI's unconstitutional snafu with Rep. William Jefferson reminded people of a 200-year old precedent. That means Foley can now self-censor "legislative business" from federally requested desktops. Convenient.)

• No illicit info in Foley emails. (An independent House review claims they took a look at Foley's emails through September 29th, the day he resigned. No nudie shots, allegedly.)

When we heard Bush flack Karl Rove resigned to be with his family, we thought, "Hmm, what's that look like?" Thanks to Dayton Daily News' Mike Peters, we now know. And, guess what, it's exactly how we imagined!

In honor of Karl Rove's timely exit from the White House, Pretty On The Outside offers their rendition of the evil political strategist.

It's a pretty spot-on picture, except for three key components*:

2. Shit covered constitution hanging from Rove's hairless, white ass.

It's a blessed day here in America. Karl Rove, the snake responsible for much of this administration's evil, announced that on August 31, he'll step down as President Bush's senior adviser.

I just think it's time. There's always something that can keep you here, and as much as I'd like to be here, I've got to do this for the sake of my family.

Ack! This man has a family? Maybe there's some dust up in hell that requires his assistance.

Rove's timing seems a bit sneaky, of course. The administration's "architect" came under scrutiny last month for his alleged role in the firing of federal prosecutors. When asked to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee, he refused, leading some to wonder if he's resigning to avoid further scrutiny. To this, Rove replies, "I know they'll say that. But I'm not going to stay or leave based on whether it pleases the mob." Oh, Rove, don't get us wrong, we're thrilled, we just wish it had come earlier.

We know you're total internet whores, and as such have probably already caught wind of the new book detailing Karl Rove's paths and pathos to power. In it, writers James Moore and Wayne Slater shed some interesting light on virulent homophobe Rove's gay connects. 365 Gay reports:

In "The Architect: Karl Rove and the Master Plan for Absolute Power" writers James Moore and Wayne Slater reveal that Rove has told insiders he does not consider himself "a Christian", had a father who was gay, and regularly dealt with openly gay Republicans as he worked publicly to have a constitutional amendment passed that would ban same-sex marriage.

"…Regularly dealt with openly gay Republicans?" That totally means he sucked dick for support. Given that it happened more than once, we're sure Rove loved it. What we wouldn't give for a little proof of his nancy ways! (Also, can you believe Rove is pictured with not one, but two black people! Astounding!)
