» Go, Girl!
"[Rachel] Maddow, who's only been hosting MSNBC's The Rachel Maddow Show for 25 days, has doubled her audience in that time (from 800k to 1.7m), and beats her CNN timeslot opponent, Larry King Live, as often as not." [Jossip] |

Larry King has a well-earned reputation for launching soft balls to his interview subjects, but not so when it comes to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who was in town addressing the United Nations. While some mainstream media types avoid getting into gay speak, King grilled Ahmadinejad about his country's homophobic human rights record. [Gay action starts at about the 1:43 mark.] |

» Maddow Tops King.
Lipstick or not, lesbian journalist Rachel Maddow's turned out to be a great addition to MSNBC's prime time line-up: "Last week the program was #2 in cable news in both the A25-54 demo and in Total Viewers at 9pmET, beating CNN's Larry King Live… In the two weeks since Maddow took over the 9pmET slot, the program's nine shows have averaged 556,000 demo viewers and 1.6M Total Viewers. Maddow's averages are more than double the final two weeks (eight shows) of Verdict with Dan Abrams (225,000 demo / 601,000 Total Viewers.)" [Media Bistro] |
» Popularity Contest…
"Rachel Maddow had a strong showing in her MSNBC debut Monday night, snaring 1.5 million viewers to beat CNN's "Larry King Live" at 9 p.m. - both in total viewers (by 1 million) and in adults 25-54 (483,000 for Maddow vs. 383,000 for King).'" [NY Post] |

O'Donnell took to her blog this weekend to criticize the legendary "journo" for making fun of Fran Drescher's Spanish-language Clinton endorsement. O'Donnell posted a poll on her Web site over the weekend asking readers to vote on whether King should "retire soon." Alright, we know Larry King ain't a hard-hitting journalist, but who else would tell Snoop Dogg that he always "gives [it] to the Jew". No one! |

Lesbian money guru Suze Orman told Larry King last night that she's more concerned with a equality-minded president than simple economics. And the politics are coughing up the goods: ORMAN: …No bones about it, I want a Democrat to win. Estate tax is especially important to Orman, she says, because she and her girlfriend have a combined gajillion-billion dollars and they don't want the government getting none of it! |

Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee popped into Larry King Live last night. And, as happens, the queers came up in conversation. With regard to Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Huckabee said that he'll let the military work that out. Meanwhile, the former Arkansas Governor again defended military officials and again defended his HIV/AIDS quarantine comments: That was 1992 — 15 years ago. And I know some would say but we knew it then. But, you know, I talked to medical doctors back then and even who have said this to me now, we said we knew, but we weren't absolutely, positively sure. And the information we were getting was from our government. And, frankly, a lot of people who weren't trusting our government than anymore than are trusting it now. We wonder why… |

Saturday Night Live spent some of its precious time this weekend taking the piss out of gay Dumbledore, otherwise known as the story that would not die. Watch as "Larry King" and "JK Rowling" discuss the shocking Harry Potter revelation and some deleted gay scenes from the book's film franchise. You may or may not laugh, chuckle or throw-up. |

Newly Emmy-Awarded entertainer Kathy Griffin appeared on Larry King Live last night to discuss the censorship controversy. Not surprisingly, she planned on creating a sensation. The unabashed awards show watcher also explains to King about inviting over her gay boys. King pretends not to know what she's talking about: Griffin: I love these award show. I watch them. I have the gay boys over. We make popcorn, you know? Ring a bell, Lar? Ring-a-ling, Larry! [This here's part one. Petulant Rumblings also posted the other two chapters.] |

How Larry Craig Altered America's Political Landscape
"I am not gay. I never have been gay." Those nine words will be etched as hard and as deep as former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey's famous five: "I am a gay American." Craig's nine words will define the end of his culture warrior career. For once he may not by lying. And, by some twist of political fate, Craig may be helping so-called "sexual deviants". |

Fun With Photo Shop!
Thankfully, some photo-shop lovers over at Paris Hiltron have taken it upon themselves to illustrate what Posh, Becks, Sarah Jessica Parker and other assorted celebs would look like as typical Americans. As you can see, David and Victoria look more like mum and dad than soccer stud and sexy singer. Not only has Paris Hiltron provided us with a much needed belly laugh, but they've confirmed our Larry King suspicions. If the chatter-box weren't working for CNN, he'd be a grandmother who spends her last days arranging dying flowers. The silly site, which we found thanks to old friend !!omg blog!!, also offers us a glimpse in Jessica and Ashlee Simpson's respective, entirely fitting futures. Have a laugh - especially at Ann Coulter - after the jump. |
