» Lynne Cheney okay with Gay Marriage?

Lynne Cheney sounds pretty pro-gay marriage to us. "I would wish my daughter to have happiness and freedom to make her own choices. The Vice President said in the debate with Joe Lieberman ever so long ago in 2000 that freedom in this country ought to mean freedom for everyone." she said when asked if she wished her daughter could marry. We expect Lynne will be a more vocal advocate for equality when her husband is out of office. Good for her. Watch the exchange here.

Actress Kate Beckinsale says she's rather eat vagina than sushi. "At least a vagina would be warm." We suppose that depends on the vagina. It certainly wouldn't be the case if Lynne Cheney were on the menu. [HuffPo]

• Actress JoAnne Worley fulfilled her The Drowsy Chaperone obligations and made a "special appearance" at J&R Music and Computer World yesterday. We love you Worley, but you look like a drag queen in this picture.

• Preliminary investigation begins for Larry Craig ethics hearing. Barbara Boxer says:

We are in the process of conducting a preliminary inquiry, and this stage is always closed to the public. If, at the end of the preliminary inquiry, the Ethics Committee decides to move into the adjudicatory phase, any hearings held would be public unless the committee votes to close them. But that is a decision that is made after we have completed our preliminary inquiry.

The Democrats are also reportedly worried public hearings will set a potentially embarrassing precedent.

• More evidence of Jossip editor Rebecca Aronauer's jerky ways.

VP's Wife Promotes New Book, Old Husband

Lynne Cheney took to the boob tube yesterday to promote her new book, Blue Skies, No Fences.

In addition to defending her husband, calling Vice President Dick Cheney a "terrific guy", the 66-year old second lady discusses how times have changed. For example, her generation didn't always welcome the homos, "[The times] were hard on kids who were gay". No thanks to the Republican party, of course.

Since birthing lesbian daughter Mary, Lynne says she - and society- have "evolved":

I think the society has evolved. I've evolved in my way of thinking, but I think the whole society has evolved. You know, my mother had a rule which was people are just people.

Speaking of people, Cheney's interviewer, Rita Braver, happens to be married to a lawyer who helped Cheney get published.
