Out actor Bryan Batt, who plays a closeted homosexual on AMC's Mad Men, recently sat down with CNN to discuss the state of being gay in Hollywood.

While some label Hollywood's gay hesitancy as "homophobic," Batt takes a more nuanced approach:

It's just like any prejudice, once you let go of any prejudice they all have to go. They're not based on facts, just on stereotypes. I really think yes, there might be some homophobia in Hollywood, but it's based on what will sell. Hollywood is a huge industry, a multibillion-dollar business. If actors who are gay will get ratings and will sell, they will get cast.

There are always going to be people who look at people who are different and who disapprove [of them] either through fear or through ignorance. We have to work toward acceptance on all levels. How long ago were the civil rights movement and the women's movement? And, still today, women don't make the same amount of money as men do for doing the same job.

Batt, you're our new favorite Hollywood homo.

Handsome Mad Men actor Jon Hamm recently sat down with The Advocate's Brandon Voss for a little homo heart-to-heart.

In addition to discussing the requisite "man crushes" - MM writer Matt Weiner and costar John Slattery - Hamm talks advertising, his fictional character Don's forte:

BV: How would you create a Mad Men ad campaign geared specifically to the gay community?

JH: Well, it’s a very high-drama show, and it’s very stylish. Three things that the gay community responds to are attitude, sexiness, and style. We’re a prime property for a big gay following—I love it.

BV: We’re an easy sell, Jon — just show us some skin.

JH: [Laughs] I don’t know about that. I don’t know if you want me anywhere near any kind of skin thing — that’s a nightmare.

Mr. Hamm, we respectfully disagree…

So, as many of you know, AMC last night debuted season two of its first original series Mad Men. We've been fans since day one - and not only for out actor Bryan Batt's closeted character. Last night's premiere hit our particular spot and we love the tonal change, but would love to hear what you lot have to say. So, any of you mad about Mad Men?

Hint: James Marsden

GQ editor Jim Nelson is as gay as they come, and it comes through loud in clear in the new January issue. An underwear fashion spread, Mad Men hottie Jon Hamm modeling suits, and James Marsden grabbing crotch? It's worth the $3.99 cover price.

• We can't top today's Doonesbury.

Maureen "Marcia" McCormick's new book reveals that she and Eve "Jan" Plumb got it behind the Brady Bunch scenes. Said book makes McCormick masturbatory material once again. Poor Plumb remains a plot device.

• AMC's Mad Men getting another go. Said go guarantees more masturbatory Jon Hamm material.
