» Nature v. Nurture: The Legend Continues

Scientists are still working on determining our homo origins. Brotherly examinations have become en vogue in the field of biological essentialism, but Dr. Alan Sanders sees more than just genetics. Could the nature v. nurture war be coming to a close. Don't hold your breath, bro. [Edge]

Pens Letter Diagnosing Gays As "Irresponsible," Worse Than Litterers

A British doctor needs a lesson in good medicine.

In a piece for Pulse, a magazine for general practitioners, the president of the Islamic Medical Association, Dr Muhammad Siddiq allegedly wrote:

There is punishment and fine if you throw rubbish or filth in the streets. The gays are worse than the ordinary careless citizen. They are causing the spread of disease with their irresponsible behavior. They are the root of many sexually transmitted diseases.

Siddiq also wrote that gays need “the stick of the law to put them on the right path".

That sounds like some repressed shit right there.

Focus on the Family, Southern Baptist Convention and other conservative groups (pictured above) are already pleading their case to the American Psychological Association, which will be conferring on reparative therapy. The groups penned a letter reading, "We believe that psychologists should assist clients to develop lives that they value, even if that means they decline to identify as homosexual." These people have some fucked up value systems.

• Budapest Mayor Gabor Demszky thinks anti-pride homophobes are ""intolerant, primitive and cowardly." Word up. Oh, and his party, The Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ), want a parliamentary coalition against homophobia. Double word up.

Highlight Homo-Hating Past, "Medical" Mischief

Truth Wins Out dedicates its non-profit practices to combating ex-gay groups - the religious-minded organizations attempting to "cure" homosexuals. No doubt, then, that TWO has a few words to say about Dr. James Holsinger, President Bush's anti-gay nominee for United States Surgeon General.

Holsinger's got quite a homo-hating past, not least of all his founding Hope Springs Community Church, which believes it is man's "intent to reproduce the following core values in every area of our church life and remain firmly committed to living out our purpose in everything we do".

As part of their campaign against homo-hating Holsinger, Truth Wins Out has released the above video statement, in which executive director Wayne Besen blasts the "good" doctor's medical approach:

Holsinger is an ideologue whose medical views on gay and lesbian people resemble sorcery more than sound science. The last thing America needed was another deplorable nominee who isn’t up to the job, but this is exactly what Bush delivered.

Besen goes on to say "It is clear that James Holsinger is to medicine what Alberto Gonzales is to justice." That, of course, ain't good…

A Chinese man who lost his penis in a "traumatic accident" (That must be an understatement) had another surgically attached last month. Apparently it didn't stick, because a mere two weeks later he asked doctors to remove the member.

365 Gay reports, "The penis came from a 22-year-old brain-dead man whose parents agreed to donate his organ."

We don't care if we're fucking Terry Shiavo, let it be known that our penis shall not be removed from our lifeless body, especially if the recipient's going to just give up on it. Sure, we gave up on it ages ago, but that's our decision, not some strangers. (Okay, okay…some strangers may have been involved.)
