[Mika] confessed that when he was recording his debut album in Miami a couple of years back he was too short of cash to splash out on many CDs but really wanted to listen to loads of new music for inspiration. So he chose a record store in Orange Grove, and used to walk around picking up discount stickers from old albums - like $2 and $4 - and stick them on his arm. Then quietly put them on the albums he wanted. What a clever little scheme, except for the confession. If were the store's owners, we'd be sending homeboy a bill. |

Monthly gay glossy Out got a lot of attention when they featured ever-ambiguous singer Mika on their cover last year. The British-bred Lebanese-born stunner said that he refused to categorize his sexuality. So, what's he have to say now? More of the same, of course… |

Singer Gives Up On Being Straight
We suppose he didn't dig his straight sophistication. The 'Grace Kelly" singer did, however, grace photogs with three different outfits. No doubt his stylist had a hard time relaxing and taking it easy. [Images] |

Being stylish is a happy accident! Fashion follows personal style. People dress the way they want to, make their style statements, whether you’re a designer or someone walking down the street. Fashion follows that, it’s a reaction to trend, and style follows it. You have to be yourself. A lot of artists look identical and just expensive, but I want to look timeless! Thus, he's channeled the tried and true style generations of men. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, just not terribly original. Still fetching, though… |

The androgynous singer first appeared on the French talent show Popstars that is similar to MTV's Making The Band. After his run on the show, he met up hot electro producers Christophe Dallaca and Stéphane Deschezeaux (Kiko & Gino) and recorded several singles on International Deejay Gigolo Records, including "Good Sluts Factory" and "Jack The Box." "Good Sluts Factory"? We're in love already! Although, we're a bit turned off by "Jack The Box". "Jack The Prick" would have sounded way better. Check out Naommon's single, "Allnighter," from his debut of the same name. The album's available now on iTunes, but those who like to make an informed decision should check out his MySpace page, especially "Hurry Up". Also, you guys may want to check out Gay.com's story on the noisemaker. |

Gay Designer Bares All...
In addition to appearing nudie on the cover, Mr. MJ opens up about…well, everything, including his much-publicized relationship with former rent boy Jason Preston. I had a relationship with him, and it was crazy, and sometimes it was a lot of fun, and sometimes it was not a lot of fun, and the biggest frustration was that I wanted him to be something he wasn’t, and I don’t mean on a social level, and I don’t mean about his past or anything like that—I just mean that I wanted to come home and have somebody be available and have conversations and just to be there. 44-year old Jacobs, who designs two eponymous labels and acts as Louis Vuitton's creative director, recently re-kicked his heroin habit, an addiction that no doubt shot out of his physical insecurities. "I used to really hate seeing my own reflection in the mirror… I just avoided having my picture taken." Well, Marc, you're definitely looking drool worthy these days. For those of you keeping count, Jacobs is the third cover-queer in so many months. If you include Mika, of course, which we do… |

So, Too, Does His Sexual Elephant

At first glance, it would appear Out's July issue follows the same old story. Take a peek inside, however, and it soon becomes clear that their Mika-related coverage ain't just a guessing game. The issue serves as a rumination on the state of the gay nation. And with potentially liberating results. No doubt homos have come a long way over the past four decades or so. While we've certainly got a way to go, Out wonders what's become of the screaming queen. As EIC Aaron Hicklin write in his editor's letter: It may be disingenuous of Mika to claim that who he sleeps with is immaterial, but for an increasing number young gay men, identifying as gay is becoming anachronistic, if not completely irrelevant. Have militant gays gone the way of the dodo? Find out, after the jump… |

Maybe this show's color scheme's a lure for the lavender set? It is rather light in the loafer… |

Gays Offer Singer No Love, Money
The 23-year old singer recently griped that he's not as popular with the gays as he'd like: I don't understand it. I've never taken sides on any gender. I like to confuse people but it would appear that the gay scene hasn't embraced my sound, or indeed, my look. I just hope all that can change in the future. Maybe fag folk aren't down with an alleged closet-case. Or maybe it's because they just don't like his sound. |

Not surprisingly, journo Hassan Mirza delved into whether the curly-haired musician digs dick: Mirza: Well as you probably know the gay media have kinda been after him - or rather, the media in general have been after him to talk about his sexuality. Do you think that’s fair to ask that? Do you think it’s right for him to say he’s not gonna talk about it? Indeed. Ellis-Bextor also tells Mirza that she hopes to perform at some gay clubs in The States. So, club promoters, you should head on over to Ellis-Bextor's website and make her wishes come true. But, you may first want to check out the video for her new single, "To Catch You", after the jump… |
