A reader sent along this MTV commercial. The network's obviously keeping its eye on the gay ball - or, rather, butt. |

Speaking with Complex, the anti-homo musician insisted Congress should focus on MTV's homosexual "promotion," rather than rap lyrics. He went on: "Dating shows that’s showing two guys or two girls in mid-afternoon… If that’s not fucking up America, I don’t know what is." In response to the scandalously nonsensical statement, GLAAD issued one of their own… |

Gent and Lady Lover Tests Dating Waters
For those of you not familiar with Ms. Tequila's work, the overly ripe 25-year old made a name for herself in lad mags like Stuff and Maxim, as well as hosting Pants Off Dance Off. And like all good female fantasies, Tequila's got a taste for the titties - and the dick, too. So, what's a girl to do? Test them all out, of course! A Shot at Love will reportedly follow Tequila as she whittles down a group of 32 suitors — 16 straight men and 16 gay women — who will live together and compete against one another in challenges to win her heart. Hmm, the show will only "challenge the norm" if Tequila ends up with a boy. If not, it's just a ratings ploy. Still, it's somewhat refreshing to see some queer loving up on the television. |

MTVu To Show 'Em How It's Done
It all started when the youthful, Viacom-backed network teamed up with Cisco to sponsor the Digital Incubator Grant: a competition "designed to mobilize a new generation of digital innovators." Last year's winners included the UCLA students behind community-based advice website called HowDoISayThis.com. MTVu liked the kids so much, they decided to give them a show. So, how do we fagalas fit in? Well, it seems of all the site's questions, coming out came out on top. Does this mean there are more gay people than any other confused population? Possibly. This show seems like a great idea. Although, one wonders how they'll make an entire series out of How Do I Say This? I'm Gay.? The answer's in the title! |

Update: Edwards Joins Fun, Too!
Oh, sorry, did we say "good old fashioned"? We meant: revolutionary debate. Never in the history of American politics have presidential candidates been brought together to debate "gay" issues. Pretty exciting stuff, huh? Logo president Brian Graden certainly believes so: We're honored to give the presidential candidates an historic opportunity to share their views directly with the LGBT audience. This forum continues MTV Networks' tradition of engaging vital niche audiences with voting and the electoral process. And grab some wicked ratings, too. Update: We just heard from John Polly, who edits the Logo-owned NewNowNext, that John Edwards will be joining Obama and Clinton for the great gay debate. Read the entire release, after the jump: |

K-I-S-S-I-N-G!!
Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Farrell got down and dirty - no, seriously, they were down on the ground getting dirty - when they received their MTV Movie Best Kiss Award for their smooch in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. As AfterElton points out, this marks the second year in a row that two men have won the honor. Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger took home the prize last year for their gay lovin' in Brokeback Mountain. Take a peek at the Cohen/Farrell make-out session, after the jump. |

We suspect more of a few of you need a laugh this afternoon and/or care about aging reality "stars"perform the same gig again, so here's a clip from MTV's latest edition of the Real World/Road Rules Challenge series: The Duel. So, here… |

Queerty hit the 2006 MTV Movie Awards Saturday and, in between chatting with Dane Cook about his Brangelina baby gifts and snapping pics of celebrity asses, we had a chance to grab some soundbites from the only celebs willing to recognize their gay audience. (Okay, that's not entirely fair, but Christina Aguilera didn't exactly have time for us.) We ran into former Real Worlder Landon Lueck, who's giddy about expanding his clothing line Glyde, which got its first blast of publicity on the MTV show. In between posing for Wax underwear, he doesn't even have time to watch the current season of RR ("I don't watch it. I can't!"). But he is thrilled by all the attention the gay community has given him. "I'm flattered," he tells us. "One thing I've heard is that if it's accepted in the gay culture then it's gonna hit mainstream like huge, so I guess i kinda apply that to myself." And as for the gays drooling over his underwear spreads? "I think it's great. It's flattering. Anyone who is a fan of me, it's a nice gesture." Meanwhile, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz was busy running around the red carpet doing MTV interviews, but he did give us a few minutes of his non-X-rated time. You'll remember Wentz from his unexpected expose, courtesy of some leaked Sidekick photos. "If you don't want naked pictures of yourself on the Internet, don't take naked pictures of yourself." Good advice, unless of course you're looking for a date. Ever since the photos appeared "the boys will not stop calling me." Try as we might, we just couldn't get Hayden Christensen to stick around for chat. All we wanted to know was whether he thought Jared Leto was hotter gay or straight. And, not that MTV's awards count for much, but you'll be pleased to know a certain gay favorite film that was snubbed by the Oscars gets plenty of recognition during the ceremony. |
