Out magazine recently released list of 100 Greatest, Gayest Albums.

In order to compile their list, the Out editorial team reached out to gay movers and shakers, and, for some reason, I was asked to submit my top ten albums. Only one of my suggestions - Nick Drake - made the gay glossy's cut. Apparently they had some sort of super scientific tally system or something and not enough people enjoy my picks. You know what I say to that? "Eat it."

This means, of course, I'll have to share some of my favorites with you, my captive audience. Now, these may not be my "favorite" albums, but they're definitely tops.

Mollygood Editor Makes Beautiful Woman


It all started a few weeks back, when we wrote on Sydney's Drag Industry Variety Awards. Always curious about the queers, our straight pal Cord Jefferson of Mollygood mused, "I've always wondered what I'd look like as a woman." We made his dreams come true…

We're not good with makeup, so we called living legend Miss Understood and old (old!) friend Adrian L. Acosta to transform Cord Jefferson into Princess Cordless.

Triple Feature!!


Nina Simone may have died back in 2003, but her spirit lives on, especially during Pride Week, when we all remember the revolutionary spirit that gave us gay life. Simone used her immense talent to combat America's - and the world's - civil rights abuses of the 20th century. As we march further into the 21st century, let's all use Simone as an inspiration, shall we?

Above you'll see Simone seeing "Ain't Got No - I Got No Life" performed life in Harlem in 1969, the same year as The Stonewall Rebellion. After the jump, check out "Young, Gifted and Black" from the same show, as well as another Simone classic, "Mississippi Goddamn".
