No, not really, but the queen of television had Melissa Etheridge and her wife Tammy Lynn Michaels on today talking about Prop.8 and the national debate that's raging on about it. The clip starts with a great rundown of this week's media coverage of the event. As soon as we have part two of the segment, we'll post it. |

» Oprah Takes on Prop. 8 Today
You know it's serious once Oprah gets involved. Set your DVR's for today's episode, which stars Melissa & Tammy Etheridge. Melissa made waves when she told The Daily Beast last week that California can forget her taxes, as she won't be paying them so long as California outlaws same-sex marriage. We'll have more once the episode airs. |
» Big Giving Divas
Oprah Winfrey and Barbra Streisand are both on the top five most generous celebs in the world list. Winfrey gave away over $50 million dollars last year, making her the 'most generous star' and Streisand wasn't far behind with $11 million dollars. Not everyone on the list was a liberal diva though, Mel Gibson was number five with a $10 million dollar donation to Holy Family Church in California. |

Like Oprah, Us is usually fine sticking with celebrities and staying out of politics. But like Oprah, Us couldn't resist. Oprah backed Obama, and watched her ratings and popularity rating slide. Us did the same, but took the extra step of bashing Palin … and now some readers are furious. Backlash? Commencing. |

In addition to revealing the baby's sex - a girl - Beatie suggests he and his wife may keep reproducing after the new child arrives in four weeks: I feel on top of the world. We're sure trans activists are luke warm to this news. |

Oprah and Gayle King. Chace Crawford and JC Chasez. Tom Cruise and an old, faded, perhaps tear stained snapshot of C. Thomas Howell (pictured). Are these some famous gay couples? Yes. And no. And maybe. [Gawker] |

Could anything be more incoherent or sad? Gender Identity Disorder is not "incredible," no matter how politically fashionable it has become to claim otherwise. It is not just another hue in the rainbow of diversity. It is a dysfunction. It should be met with sympathy, counseling, and therapy, not with five-page spreads in People and appearances on Oprah. We can't say we're surprised by Jacoby's reaction - he once argued that legalizing sodomy would lead to an explosion of incest and bestiality. |

For those of you who missed it, Scarborough and his cohorts on MSNBC's Morning Joe took multiple shots at pregnant trans man Thomas Beatie, whom they referred to as disgusting and the such. Obviously we all knew Beatie's Oprah appearance would cause a controversy, but had hoped that mainstream news agencies would have a little more class. Not Scarborough, though. |

Thomas Beatie's got some balls. No, not literally, but you've got to give him credit for telling all on Oprah. Yeah, the pregnant trans man made a splash with his Advocate admission, but nothing compares to the attention he'll receive after this appearance. Above you'll see Beatie and his wife, Nancy discussing the insemination process, sound effects and all. More impressively, Nancy's grown daughters praise Nancy and Thomas as nuptial role models who are "regular" and "very much in love." Oprah approves, of course. Will her viewers? After the jump, the couple talks being rejected by nine doctor. Their current doctor, meanwhile, describes Thomas' pregnancy as "average." |
» Beatie On Oprah!
Pregnant trans man Thomas Beatie will appear on this Thursday's Oprah, which is kind of the best thing that could ever happen to anyone trying to spread a message. [Willamette Week] |

Oprah's dog, Sophie, recently died, but not so for her real estate ventures: "Gayle King, Oprah Winfrey's best friend, has moved into a penthouse purchased in the name of Oprah's recently departed pooch, Sophie. According to deed-transfer records released yesterday, a company called Sophie's Penthouse LLC bought a $7.1 million full-floor sky palace atop the 36-floor building at 207 E. 57th St…" [NY Post] |

Says Berkus: I think it’s important for everyone to be seen doing what they love to do, so I actually don’t draw a distinction between quote-unquote stereotypical gay professions versus other ventures that people might excel in. Looking at people and judging them based on their sexuality, or discounting someone based on their sexuality is a really, really scary, rough, unnecessary road. I have the opportunity to be on television and I’m very grateful for that, but I don’t think the importance is that I’m hosting a television show. We'll we think it's important, but mostly so we can ogle you, Berkus. |

Entertainer Not Feeling Oprah's Political Rationale
The comedienne received such widespread press for her recent harangue against "Barak" Obama and Oprah, that she decided to take another stab at sociopolitical commentary. This time Barr takes on Oprah's apparent crime against Hillary Clinton: oprah winfrey has refused to do a show with the FIRST WOMAN candidate for President who has EVER won a primary election, in the history of the United States of America. Or, more likely, Oprah realized it would be disingenuous to (very publicly) endorse a candidate and then host a competitor. |
