The Oklahoma City politico simply can't think past the gays and our allegedly immoral ways. Debating opponent Ron Marlett last week, Kern, who caught national flack this year for launching a rhetorical jihad against the gays, cemented her political standing in an firmly homophobic platform. Repeating her assertion that same-sex lovers are a "moral decay that's destroying our nation from within," Kern also made the outlandish claim that we gays are the greatest threat facing the US of A: When asked about the biggest threat facing the United States, Marlett said it was dependence on foreign oil. Kern said it was homosexuality. Marlett, who has our hypothetical vote, described Kern's cancer remark as "chilling." We also think it's quite childish. |

Tuesday's remarks were made at the Cleveland County Republican Club where she once again repeated her opposition to gay marriage and homosexuality. She opened by saying she was a “cultural warrior for Judeo-Christian values.” Some are just more righteous, right Sally? |
» Loaded.
"A state lawmaker who gained national notoriety with an anti-homosexual rant was stopped from entering the state Capitol Wednesday when she was found to have a loaded handgun in her purse, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. Patrol spokeswoman Chris West said Republican Rep. Sally Kern was not charged because there did not appear to be any "malicious intent" behind her actions." Unless there were gay folk about… [AP] |

Homo-politico Jim Roth currently leads the fund race for the state's Corporate Commission. Kern, of course, made international news in March when she railed against "immoral" gays and criticized rich gay philanthropists, including Tim Gill, who happened to contribute $5,000 to Roth's campaign. And he's not alone: Colorado Congressional hopeful Jared Polis, whom we interviewed last week, also offered a contribution. Gays sure do like to stick together! |

The deal, to be brokered by real estate giant Staubach Co., has not yet been taken off the table, but "local business leaders" claim the San Francisco-based lesbian ain't amused. Staubach refuses to divulge the details, of course… |
» False.
It's official. Anti-gay lawmaker Sally Kern's a big, fat liar. She claims PFLAG twisted her words to make it seem as if she came out against gay job discrimination. Well, PFLAG taped their 40-minute meeting and she repeatedly says she doesn't condone anti-gay employment discrimination. She says a whole lot more, too. [PFLAG] |

We are intrigued by the fact that the same movement that once cried out for “privacy” and “to be left alone” feels free to publicly declare people’s homosexuality for them (Anderson Cooper, No. 2, and Jodie Foster, No. 43). This from a man who uses his influence to spread blatantly biased spread gay panic and supports Sally Kern, the politician who called non-Christians "infidels" and equated gays with terrorists? Who's even-handed? |

» Bad Odds.
Over 1,000 people went out to support Sally Kern's freedom of hateful speech. In contrast, only about 400 people protested her homophobia last week. Oy… [News OK] |

Kern's main focus in the Legislature has been on anti-gay initiatives, such as trying to determine where libraries should place books with homosexual themes. "God's Word does not change. … Therefore, my opinion also will not change,” she said last week. We have a suggestion, but it's not fit for print. |
» Pal Protest
The social conservatives of Concerned Women for America are organizing a "free speech" rally tomorrow to honor anti-gay lawmaker Sally Kern, who claims gays are worst than terrorists and called non-Christians infidels. [CNW] |

Brief Sally Kern ally PFLAG ain't happy with the Oklahoma lawmaker's persistent, obsessive anti-gay politics: "It seems as if Oklahoma State Representative Sally Kern is determined to do some fancy footwork to avoid even the perception that she might be open-minded enough to consider another view." [PFLAG] |
» Ugly Audio
Those of you with a stomach of steel should check out the audio from Sally Kern's appearance at University of Central Oklahoma, during which she refers to non-Christians as "infidels." There's also a remix! [U.S.M.H.] |

Anyone who thinks there is no homosexual agenda need only look here in Oklahoma to the newly formed Equal Rights Project created to help elect candidates by bridging the gay/straight community. The Equal Rights Project states "We felt we were uniquely qualified to help those running in the South and the Bible Belt. Running in these communities is much different than in California and New York. Our idea was to train, educate and support all candidates who support equal rights for all." |

Speaking with about 40 people at a contentious University of Central Oklahoma meeting, Kern again stood by her now infamous remarks on the "homosexual lifestyle": "If I knew it was being recorded, I'd still say the same thing. I will not back down from what I believe the Bible teaches.” Kern also took some time to reiterate her trepidation over Islam in America: "It's like oil and water: They (Islamic law and American law) won't mix." |

Oklahoma House Rep. Sally Kern has taken a stand opposing discrimination against gays in the workplace. The embattled lawmaker is also considering another meeting with more PFLAG parents at their local chapter… This is incredible, especially considering Kern defended herself just last weekend. It's worth noting that Kern did not apologize, according to a PFLAG press release, which we've included after the jump. It should be interesting to hear what Kern has to say to the anti-gay kids of University of Central Oklahoma's College Republicans. Someone bring a tape recorder. |
