Stephen Dunne Admits Error In Judgment

Reformed anti-gay activist Stephen Dunne returns to Gayville this week. The law student caught our eye - and ire - last year when he sued the Massachusetts State Bar Association for including a gay marriage question on the would-be lawyer's exam. Dunne refused to answer the question, which cost him the test and then promptly sued for religious discrimination. Dunne later withdrew his case.
Dunne's given the matter much thought over the past few months and wrote to Bay Windows explaining that his lawsuit was "misguided" and he was simply "lashing out". The staffers at Bay Windows were so intrigued by Dunne's turnaround that they dispatched Laura Kiritsy to dig into Dunne. Here's a sample of their exchange:
Q: Did you hear from [your] when you filed the lawsuit?
A: There’s a lot of gay people I know that don’t know what I did. And you know obviously I’m not going to bring it up today because to a large degree I don’t want them to know because I’m embarrassed at what I did. They’re great people, they’re great parents, they’re educated people, they’re professionals. I have a lot of respect for them. Once you become friends with people it’s hard not to respect them, to change your opinion, change your direction of your previously preconceived notions that were incorrect.
Irishman Dunne also says that past discrimination against his ancestors helped bring him back to reality. He's currently studying for the bar exam. We'll done, Dunne!

"Cousin" Alleges Fraud, Weirdness

Failed law student Stephen Dunne isn't only a homophobe and an idiot, but he's a total zealot. And broke.
Jeremy over at Good As You informs us that Mr. Dunne has set up a website to help fund his lawsuit against the Massachusetts bar association. Not only will the money help him get his bar license, but it'll go toward dismantling Massachusetts' gay marriage laws:
My dream is to become a Lawyer, but I cannot defile my Christian faith simply to pass an examination. I will not pay the price that the Defendants are forcing me to pay in order to practice law in Massachusetts. There is no price tag on my faith. It is not for sale.
After a great deal of deliberation, prayer and introspection, I decided to vindicate my constitutional rights in Federal District Court. On June 25, 2007, I filed a Federal Complaint challenging the inclusion of the question regarding Homosexual Marriage and Homosexual Parenting on the Massachusetts Bar Examination. Furthermore, I am challenging the constitutionality of Homosexual Marriage and Homosexual Parenting in Massachusetts. In 2003, four unelected judges legalized Homosexual Marriage in Goodridge v. Dept. of Public Health, 798 N.E. 2d 941 (Mass. 2003). I sincerely believe that this ruling is profoundly undemocratic and un-American.
If I am to successfully challenge the constitutionality of Homosexual Marriage and Homosexual Parenting in Massachusetts, it will be because of the generosity, support and conviction of my fellow Americans. I cannot overlook the passage in Matthew 10:16: "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."
You're no dove, Dunne, but you sure are a snake.

Stephen Dunne's lawsuit against the Massachusetts bar association just got dumber. If that's possible, of course.
The failed lawyer filed a suit over a question on gay marriage, which Dunne skipped.
The suit says the question in question required applicants to “affirmatively accept, support and promote homosexual marriage and homosexual parenting.” The failed lawyer claims the question violated state law - which it doesn't, because Massachusetts allows gay marriage - as well as his freedom of religion.
