» Notable Absence.
Canadian politico Tom Lukiwski drew some jeers when he skipped a gay rights forum yesterday. His absence really shouldn't come as a surprise: the Tory has a long history of homophobic attitudes and was once seen on a video talking mad trash about the gays. [CNews] |

» No Go.
Gay Canadian Senator Nancy Ruth does not accept Conservative MP Tom Lukiwski's apology for his anti-gay comments back in the 90s. Said Ruth: "Apologies are never enough. There always needs to be action." Not according to PM Stephen Harper. [Niagara Falls Review] |

Harper said a Conservative MP has apologized for "completely unacceptable" anti-gay comments he made almost two decades ago and will not be disciplined. Actually, we agree. Lukiwski's uttered comments - which nonsensically describes his opposition as dirty faggots, who apparently have dirty fingernails - over a decade ago and while under the influence. We once thought we liked girls, so people obviously can change and we're willing to believe Lukiwski's sorry - he got caught… |

Canadian politico Tom Lukiwski sure knows how to trash talk. Or is talk trash? Regardless, this 1991 video of the conservative MP definitely qualifies as garbage. Globe and Mail explains:
He obviously doesn't know us at all! Lukiwski promptly apologized for the comments following the tape's release, saying: "I'm ashamed [of] the comments. If I could take those comments back, I would… I have no prejudice against gay people whatsoever. Those comments do not reflect the type of person I am.” As one can imagine, the politician's apologies are doing nothing to curb the calls for his job. Oh, also, the video may not be safe for work. |
