Tea Party Wins: Bigots Christine O’Donnell, Ovide Lamontagne Overtake Republican Challengers in Delaware, NH

Despite being dubbed a “complete fraud” by her former U.S. Senate campaign manager Kristin Murray, Tea Party favorite and Sarah Palin pick Christine O’Donnell (pictured) has scored in Delaware, beating in today’s GOP primary (for Joe Biden’s Senate seat) Rep. Mike Castle — whom O’Donnell’s “supporters” gay baited in television ads. And in New Hampshire, Ovide Lamontagne is on track to beat former frontrunner Kelly Ayotte; Lamontagne is the fella who wants to ban gay couples from adopting, among other things.

Ensuring Democratic control of at least the Senate. In all honesty, thank you, teabaggers. :)

This is GOOD news. Castle was beating the Dem candidate by large margins, but O’Donnell was trailing by 7.

Obviously Republican voters are no longer taking their orders from the neo-Con, country-club Republican Establishment who gave us all that “War-Time president” George W. Bush who helped crash and burn the US economy. And who can blame them?

Bigots? Are we talking about Obama and his administration again? Aren’t these the people that deny full equality to the gays and lesbians? Or, are we into double-standards today?

Until Obama and other Democrats support FULL equality (vs. the “back of the bus” domestic partnerships), he and his crew are bigots.

There’s a little panic going on at the two Republican blogs I checked (non-TeaParty-ist). Both candidates received most of their media/ financial support from outside the state. Both hold extreme positions that fall outside the usual Rep. platform.

The Dems have some reason to be concerened, of course, but these two will be easier to beat than the two “regular Reps” as long as the dems can get people TO the polls in the actual election.

The TP people are elated, seeing this as the start of “something big” but they seem not to notice they’re dividing the Right into two at their own peril.

@CJ: Get the sand out of your vadge. Chris Conns, the Dem candidate in DE does support it.

“Chris has always been a supporter of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community here in Delaware. As County Executive, he created an external Diversity Commission that reviews county policies and practices and includes a representative from the LGBT community. Chris has also ensured domestic partnership benefits in New Castle County government and supported LGBT issues debated in the state legislature. If elected to the US Senate, he will continue fighting for LGBT issues such as: marriage equality for all Americans, repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and the Defense of Marriage Act, and supporting the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) and Uniting American Families Act (UAFA).”

@whatever: Might also mention that Paul Hodes, the NH candidate fighting against another tea-party upset, has also expressed his support for full equality. Same with Andrew Cuomo here in NY, fighting yet another tea party upset. So as far as I’m concerned, — all of these tea party wins are wonderful news!

Don’t know what’s going on with these insane bill perdue posts, but they’re certainly incredibly offensive to just about everyone. thankfully they’re the incoherent ramblings of an insane person so it takes some effort to get insulted.

I’ll be voting for Christine O’Donnell. I support her position against porn, for instance.

Porn distorts human sexuality through its promotion of the bisexual double standard. This is evident in the fact that almost all porn that contains both men and women allows the women to sexually interact with each other as well as with the men. The men, on the other hand, are only allowed to interact with the women and not with each other. It’s a double standard which distorts human sexuality and contributes to discrimination against male-male sexuality.

      You’ve got my vote, Christine.

Jason, porn is about fantasy and profit. Not everything should be broken down into some weird socio-politico-class/sexuality/race message. If straights get there rocks off watching mff threeways, let’m. They should be old enough to know its not real.

And Ayotte beats Lamontagne. It was a narrow win, but she won. Not as good as a pro-mo GOPer, but better than Lamontagne, who might actually have won.

I am embarrassed to be called a Republican these days, with lunatics around like Paladino, Lamontagne, O’Donnell, and other Tea Party Freaks that are taking over a party that once stood for reasonable, pro-business goals, and limited government, without the hypocrisy.

“he will continue fighting for LGBT issues”

That’s really helpful. So presh. He actually thinks they’ll care when HE gets down there. Any balls and the “fighters” would have REFUSED TO VOTE ON OBAMA CARE and his other crap until movement on LGBT issues.

Stop befriending every single stupid Liberal issue and focus on THIS ONE. Not freaking stupid lightbulbs and illegal aliens who you not only get to pay for but who usurp your ability to get anything DONE.

      Stop being so ~nice.
