      Wow a Dan Avery Post on Israel,

      I know I’ve given Dan crap on here about never every saying anything about the Mormons all out financial assault on our rights, while at the same time, while Jews are the largest organized religion in the U.S. that accept and perform gay marriage and yet he was consistently running stories about some unknown Rabbi with no authority who didn’t like gays. I’ve accused Dan of either being soft on Mormons for some reason, perhaps a silent financial arrangement with Queerty as they tried to do under the old owners, or something else. And I’ve also said, that ignoring the fact that the Jews officially sanction gay marriages yet continually running articles making it seem as they don’t would make Dan seem like he has an agenda against them.

      Interesting now that in an article about the shooting in Israel he would add the following sentence.

      “At the memorial, Livni, who favors a two-state solution to the Israeli/Palestinian crisis said…”.

      I wasn’t aware that this was an article about The Israeli Palestinian issue.

      So does that mean that if Dan posts an article on a gay story from say….London that you will add a sentence in the middle that says “After the fire at the gay nightclub, Bob, who favors a referendum on Scotish independence, stated that this was a terrible incident.

      Seriously, I get that Dan may have strong feelings on the Israeli Palestinian issue, but try to at least appear that you are talking about the gay story when you post.

      And maybe don’t forget that there are massive organizations here, with enormous financial resources who already have attacked us via Prop 8 and you are ignoring them.

      @Cam:

      There is a massive undertone of religious apologetic and anti-semitism in everything Avery posts. Why not just clarify the position of Avery himself and the integrity of Queerty itself with an honest acknowledgement of their standpoint.

      Wouldn’t surprise me if there was a financial arrangement either, there is something morally wrong with his inability to speak out on these issues without these slants.

      @Cam: Look, you post on every story with your utter nonsense. No-one’s responding and everyone thinks you’ve got two screws loose. Yes, I’m sure the Mormon Church is secretly funding Queerty. I hear they particularly like Morning Goods (!) Go back to commenting on Alex Jones forums.

      @freddie:

      Nice try troll. But if you’re going to try to say that everything I say is always wrong and everybody thinks so…..you may want to post that earlier, you know, like before somebody else posts right above you that they agree with me.

      Additionally…

      1. The old owners of Queerty stated quite clearly that the Mormon Church attempted to make a financial arrangement with them. They refused and continued to post many articles on the church’s anti-gay activity.

      2. Since Queerty was purchased by new owners, there have been nearly zero articles on the Mormon Church’s anti-gay activities, even though they continue to be one of the largest funders of anti-gay activities in the nation.

      3. While ignoring the Mormons and to a smaller extent the Catholic church’s activities. Avery HAS written large numbers of posts that try to make it seem like the Jewish Church is anti-gay even though they are the largest church in the U.S. that accepts gay marriages. These articles include articles claiming Israel having gay rights is a sham, which is untrue, or writing about some unknown person who is Jewish who said something anti-gay and neglecting to mention that that isn’t the view of the larger church.

      4. Even in this article about gays, Avery inserts a stray sentence about a completely different political subject, that again, is telling.

      So again, nice try troll, maybe you can get a job on the Romney Campaign.

      I almost never post in the comment threads but there seems to be some confusion. I am not an anti-Semite. I am Jewish, and proud to be. If I report on something negative, that’s because its news. Not because I’m trying to make anyone look bad.

      The Israel situation has become very topical in the gay world, because of accusations of pink-washing. I don’t personally agree with that contention, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t cover it.

      Lastly, I included the information about Livni because most readers have no idea who she is or what her political affiliation is. Livni mentioned the “political Left” in her quote, so some context was needed. Also, she says, “people have the right to live in dignity in the state of Israel. Equality and justice… should belong to all.”

      She was speaking specifically about gays and lesbians, but certainly there’s undertones of the Palestinian situation.

      While I agree with you…

      “Jewish Church”? Well, we know who’s DEFINITELY not Jewish ;). (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)
